Another thought for the greys might be the weather hasn't turned them on just yet into forage mode and your just not seeing them because it's been so warm and they're not moving much ??

Seriously though, that had to be beyond aggravating. Were you screens the fiber type? Not sure the metal would have lasted much longer.

I've been seeing the little monsters. Put two in the pan this season so far, a couple others had some bot fly issues and I didn't eat them. If I have a firearm they seem scarce.....

 

But..........

If I'm out there with just a knife and my folding saw working on cutting downed branches and logs to tidy up brush blinds they are all over the place.

I hope they havent but these dam red squirrels I have around my house are pissing me off u shoot one and they multiply

Cycles, all animals have high and low times.  Homework may be required for squirrels and small game, check local farmers and location of planted fields.

Based on the amount I have on my cams it seems to be about par for the corse for my places …seeing plenty of them
