Question on battery type for generator

Ok I bought that Honda 6500 inverter generator off my neighbor.

He kept the battery on a tender but it’s 6 yrs old and doesn’t crank it well.

I can pull start it and it starts first pull but my wife can’t .

So.,, it’s a YTZ14s battery ..I see them on eBay that say AGM type , also sealed type etc..

Any idea what’s the best choice ?

And should I leave it on the tender all the time ?

He gave me the battery tender too but  I’m going to keep it in my garage which stays above freezing so maybe I don’t need it ??

This thing is pretty sweet … it’s so quiet compared to my old one

Thx for the help

How do you make through the day?

Go to Walmart, AutoZone or NAPA and buy a damn battery.  You own a Jeep, quality can't be too important.

Typical ignorant comment , I’d expect nothing less from you .

Always trying to start trouble to make up for driving junk

A manual should tell you the correct battery that is needed . If not replace with a duplicate of what's in there . If he got 6 years out of old one he was doing doing right

Yea the manual just says use a 14s type.

The one that is in there is a Nakika YTZ14s

I can’t even find that brand , if I could I would for sure get one .

Assume it’s something Honda used at the time and maybe out of business

It doesn’t say if it’s AGM or whatever .

Most I see are either lead acid or AGM

I just wondered which one was better .

Walmart and NAPA don’t have a cross reference for some strange reason .

There is a local Deka dealer I’ll talk to Monday..

Id rather pay for a good one then one that only lasts a year !

Perfect just ordered it , will be here Thursday. I saw that when I Googled but I was trying to find one local .

Napa couldn’t even cross that number.

Oh well this seems like a good one

Should whip it over with no problem , it’s 230 CCAs and the original says 200

And Amazon seems to stand behind its stuff ..

Amazon is just the front, the seller store is Yuasa..

Amazon only stand behinds the standard refund time. Any warranty issues you need to deal with vendor afterwards.
