Um, Biz.....Aren't you the guy who posted about bring an extra g/f to camp on my food for deer camp thread.

I am sure you and your wife to be will have a happy and long marriage. Jeez. LOL

Take a vacation. Just you and her. If you can spend the cash on out of state hunts, you surely can spend money on a romantic weekend for your wife.

Lol it's called a sense of humor

Im in the same boat but I can't get out to shop until x mas eve morning. Im thinking jewelry???? Last time I picked out clothes for her turned  out to be a real disaster. I really wish she hunted or fished.

Jewelry? Im totally stumped. ….Would cash be too impersonal???

I'm starting to panic, (please don't get mad at me, I know you're trying to help me come up with ideas) I bought her a pair of work shoes today..........that's as bad as giving cash. :)

Any theaters in your area?  Not movieplex theaters but theater theaters, with stages.  There's one close to me and I try to take my wife to a performance when we can get away.  I think they have some sort of season pass.

Could always name a star after her or buy a waterfront lot on beautiful Tellico Lake in the Smoky Mountains of Tennesee.  A subscription to Carbonite or some Super Beta Prostate?  Sorry, I listen to a lot of AM radio.

Here's one my g/f asked me for. "Stop getting pissed off at the people in "HuntingNY.com,", and pay more attention to me!".

Told her I can't promise that.

My wife mentioned back in Nov. that her work shoes were getting worn………What the hell????? Im seriously considering getting up at 4 A.M. On X- mas morning and staging a fake burglary at my house just to get out of this. Then again I would still have to tell the wife exactly what her allegedly "stolen" gift was soooo??????!!?      Are there still Hickory Farm stores around??  She likes cheese..I think...

As someone who lives in Westchester and works in NYC, it is not uncommon whatsoever for straight guys to get massages/facials/manicures/pedicures, etc. especially with their girlfriend/wife.  Many men get manicures who work in business, because its all about appearance down to every last detail. I personally do not care for manicures/pedicures. I've gone after being begged for many years by my fiancé, but they do nothing for me. A massage, on the other hand, can be nice. But I'm still not a huge fan, and only probably have had a handful of massages in my lifetime. It's just a different culture, that's all. Noboyd blinks an eye down here at a guy wearing $500+ pair of dress shoes or dress shirts with their initials stitched into the cuffs, etc.

I'm not big on fancy clothes and shoes. Don't care much about my appearance either. I have a nice Tag watch and Raybans and that's about as deep as it goes.  Just feels good to get a facial, massage, pedicure... Scientifically proven to be beneficial for stress. Never had a manicure.

I here ya. I bet nobody walking down 42nd street Monday-Friday looks at me and thinks "Hey, that guy looks like a hunter".

ditto. I have 2 very different appearances. M-F driving a nice car in nice clothes and clean shaven. On the weekends I'm in camo, or dirty jeans doing chores or working on my car in a beater truck. You should never judge a book by it's cover. Many people down south heard I was from NY and instantly judged me. Not a clue that I can hunt, fish and turn a wrench. On the flip side, seeing me walk into home depot sometime you might think I live in a trailer.

I heard a quote the other day. "the best hobbies are those that take you furthest away from your work". I think that's what I love so much about the outdoors.

I bet a company like Realtree would love it if hunters got into manicures and pedicures.  They could sell branded nail polish in all their camo patterns and make even more money!

lets just clear it up a little. In the past 10 years I've had 2 pedicures, 1 facial and 4 massages. So lets just be clear about "guys who get pedicures". It's a once in a while thing with the wife. Usually we drink wine during and after and I get rewarded. You know... the reward married guys stop getting when they put a ring on it?

I'm sorry, but I just can't picture any of the fat, crude, bearded, beer drinking weekend warriors that I call hunting buddies getting their nails done, or having a mudcake on their faces at the salon. If they admitted something like this, I promise you they'd either be sleeping in their truck or out in the snow at deer camp.

And the last time I got a massage, it was from a pretty little Korean woman, I think the name of the spa was "XXX Oriental"?.

Back to the topic at hand...Mrs likes to shop, I either give her cash or gift cards.

Why do you have to be fat, crude and bearded to be a hunter? I'm thin, in shape, clean shaven and white collar. And I get it done just the same....with prettier girls and more money.

Find something that will appeal to her inner-child.

Somehow Santa always brings some type of coloring book, with either Crayola markers, colored pencils, or crayons for my wife.  She spends part of Christmas afternoon coloring while chatting on the with phone family members that are too far away to see over the holiday.

Maybe something like a paint-by-numbers kit, water colors if she is artsy.

Maybe a fun game to play (traditional types, like a card game[skipbo, Mille Borne], or board game)

Something relaxing like a back massager.

Birthstone earrings/necklace set.
