  6. Ok, I was listening to this gentleman bringing up just about all the points that we have brought up here. All good points and really un-arguable, just like when they were brought up here. And yet the madness continues. And yet the anti-gun people ignore all that and carry on with their campaign to justify this worthless legislation. So I have to ask, doesn't this all show that the opposition really doesn't care about real solutions to gun violence (or any other kinds of violence)? Doesn't all this determined willful ignorance show that there is a political agenda that is quite separate from the mass murders of those children other than simply using them as a catalyst to advance their anti-2nd Amendment agenda. These people are just blood-sucking carrion eaters that have been patiently biding their time for the next opportunity. They have used those deaths simply as a convenient tool to push gun elimination legislation.

  8. I'm not saying the medical examiner lied, but he didn't do himself any favors in answering the questions. Watch the video. He didn't exactly convince me he believed anything he was saying in his body language, use of language, and eye contact. It was a simple question, not a convincing answer.

  9. did i say the cops and firemen/ emts who first got there said any of this.. no i said medical examiner. where you get this first responder thing is a mystery i dont think we will ever know. and yes this was the PERFECT excuse that the politicians who are against guns had to go forth in banning them.. let this digest for you the blood and bodies of those innocent children werent even cold yet by the time these people were ranting on cnn and msnbc about how bad the evil assault weapons are and how we should wake up and see that civilians dont need these evil devil guns. before the "evidence" of the long rifle even being on scene there were remarks flooding the tv and internet about banning ars and aks, etc etc etc i opened my eyes and saw something that day, i saw the rights of law abiding citizens such as myself and im sure others from this site, violated and stomped onto the ground, i saw politicians jump to help further their own political careers, i saw a criminal not obey a single gun law that day and by making new laws people feel that the criminals performing these outrageous acts will start following them, im not expert but im pretty sure criminals dont think like that. do i agree with SOME parts of the bill, yes i do, there should be a database and records for mentally unstable people, this bill should have focused more on the people of the state/ country but going after firearms was the complete wrong direction to go about solving this problem p.s sorry for the rant guys

  12. or look at it this way, you're one of the first responder's on scene, as you enter the building, the first thing you see is the bodies of children lying everywhere, then the stench of blood enters your nostrils, as you try to move forward looking for the shooter you notice you have a hard time moving as your boots keep slipping on the fresh blood...do you really believe that anyone looked at their partner and said "hey this is a great opportunity to further our fight to ban weapons"............digest that for awhile before you make outrageous accusations.

  14. I find it hard to believe that the first thing that went through the responding Department's mind's was that his was a good chance to turn it into a campaign against gun ownership...and to suggest the medical examiner lied in his report to further an agenda is even more unbelievable....all involved will probably be haunted by this for the rest of their lives.

  18. IMHO this pack of rats intentionally structured the bill to reduce the number of guns available to law abiding citizens, and slowly (by attrition) eliminate legal guns that are already out there. Some manufacturers will not spend the money to redesign their guns or mags to accept 7 rounds. You can no longer buy, what they define as, an assault rifle and the ones that are currently owned (by honest citizens) must eventually be sold out of state or surrendered to the state. Internet ammo sales are banned which means that people who legally own firearms chambered in hard to find calibers can no longer get ammo for them..6.5 Swiss, 7.7 Jap, 250/3000 savage, 32-20 etc... even 16ga. and 28ga shells are hard to find. The fact that these little rats are not ashamed of themselves tells you exactly the type of "people" we are dealing with.

  21. I lived in TX for a while. Looked into hunting while I lived there, but everything I could find was leases only, and at prices I sure couldn't afford at that part of my life. It's kinda getting the same way around here (WNY) but at least I have the option of large state owned lands if I am willing to drive a bit. What really did me in down there was the heat-- I get ill easily if it's too hot and I was miserable for 8 months out of the year. TX isn't as free as it likes to think. Do a search on what's going on with the Keystone Pipeline on private property down in TX if you're curious. To be fair, this is happening in many areas, not just TX. That said, TX is fine for those that don't mind hot summers, and they do have a lot of game animals down here. If it floats your boat, awesome! A wise friend of mine once said: "It's okay to not like things, just don't be a d**k about the things you don't like." Beware the fire ants. First hand experience. For me, I'll do what I can here in NY to fight some of the insanity, though I know that my letters and calls will only do so much. I won't stop trying, though.

  23. The answer is Apathy and Ignorance.. the greatest killer of all things important in America... the same reason that only a third of the eligible voters make it to the polls to vote... the same reason that only a handful of members of any club usually do the work of the whole club. Its the human condition and not a good criteria for the effectiveness of the organization... and I bet you can't name another organization in America with 4.25 million members... as for being in the minority... seems to me like the trend as of late is that the minorities get what ever they want if they scream loud enough.. and I promise you .. the NRA and it's members will be screaming loud.

  24. Kinda of hard to see what the NRA is saying when you are NOT a member and your head is up your A$$. If you're not with us,you're against us. New York: Governor Andrew Cuomo Seizes Your Gun Rights Overnight with Secret Deals, Procedural Shortcuts and Midnight Votes in Albany Public Input Prevented on Gun Control Debate to Advance Agenda and Political Career Governor Andrew Cuomo, in stunningly brazen fashion, took a hatchet to gun rights in New York with lightning speed. By cutting secret deals behind closed doors, eliminating public input and circumventing normal legislative processes, the Governor and state Senate passed sweeping anti-gun measures just before the stroke of midnight yesterday. Within 24 hours, Cuomo had his new gun control laws. Cuomo utilized a rarely-used executive trick, a "message of necessity" to bypass normal legislative procedures that are strictly followed on hundreds of bills each legislative session. Late last night as the clock approached midnight, the public was introduced to S. 2230,a hastily drafted bill that includes bans on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms and magazines, registration, and restrictions on ammunition purchases. This bill was released to legislators a scant twenty minutes prior to the Senate vote and quickly passed without proper vetting, committee consideration and debate, as previously reported on here. Today, S. 2230 faced the state Assembly where it passed by a 104 to 43 vote and was signed into law by the Governor within an hour of its passage, taking immediate effect. During Assembly debate, it became obvious that the haste with which the bill was drafted and passed resulted in innumerable errors and flaws, damaging gun owners even worse than bill authors probably intended. The NRA-ILA lobbyist spent several days in Albany meeting with lawmakers, but this deal was quickly and quietly being forged behind closed doors. Lawmakers from both political parties were even critical of the process in which Cuomo guaranteed only one outcome would prevail. Prior to this outrageous and undemocratic action, New York already had some of the strictest gun control laws in the country, and they have proven to be failures. When each of New York’s gun laws was enacted, politicians promised it would fix the crime problem. Years later, it is clear that they did not, yet anti-gun lawmakers want more of the same laws. Gun control has not worked because criminals, by definition, do not obey the law. Like previous gun control attempts, S.2230 focuses only on law-abiding gun owners and will do nothing to address public safety or crime. S.2230 expands the state's existing pseudo (semi-auto) "assault weapons" ban by outlawing pre-ban firearms, unless they are registered. This new state law also expands what is now considered an “assault weapon” and goes beyond the expired federal law. This statute also lowers New York's magazine capacity limit from ten rounds to seven. You can possess magazines capable of holding more than ten for one year, but you cannot sell or transfer them to anyone living in New York. State residents have one year from enactment to transfer or surrender them. Incredibly, S.2230 will also require background checks on ammunition purchases and prohibit online sales of both firearms and ammunition. It also includes universal background checks on all firearms transfers with certain exemptions for immediate family. S.2230 also requires mental health practitioners to report if someone is a threat to himself or others (without requiring an adjudication) and such person must surrender their gun. These failed gun control ideas will not address crime, but today Cuomo and his accomplices did irreparable damage to the constitutional rights of New Yorkers. In his recent state of the state address, Cuomo made it clear that passing gun control would be the first major issue of the 2013 legislative session. He seized the opportunity to exploit tragedy and put his own personal politics ahead of sound public policy. Your governing officials resorted to deception, secrecy and procedural gamesmanship because they were too afraid to let gun owners make their voices heard. In the short time this issue was before the state Legislature, hundreds of phone calls and e-mails flooded the Capitol. The politicians might be able to sidestep gun owners now, but the next election will be a different story. This legislation is still less than 24 hours old, and it contains many complex details and nuances that were secretly withheld from public view. NRA-ILA’s legal staff will continue to examine this new law and determine if future litigation may be appropriate. As we challenge these new laws, we will continue to report to our members, so please stay tuned and continue to visit www.nraila.org.
