  1. why didn't anyone shoot one shot from their double barreled shot gun in the air to scare them?!?!?! I mean Uncle Joe said thats what works...This is why you need rational people with cc's

  2. So you don't feel the need to carry a gun in the course of your daily life. Thats fine. But who the hell are you to mock someone who feels that they do? Typical liberal arrogance.

  3. Just stating a fact virgil. You are a self loathing liberal gun owner, your own worst enemy. Your overinflated ego doesnt allow you to see it, especially with all of that kool aid sloshing around. You are the type that is willing to give up your freedoms in favor of the delusion of safety provided by the government. The fact that I carry and am more prepared to defend myself than most of the sheep out there are has nothing to do with any machismo or fascination with anything.

  4. With all due respect to everyone here, there is no need for any "evidence" to prove if carrying actually makes you safer or just feel safe. If you can legally carry and you choose to do so, and if it makes you as a person feel safer or more comfortable, even if it's just knowing that you have the opportunity to defend yourself against another person or persons who attempt to harm you, your family or another innocent, then so be it. I don't think it's a liberal or conservative ideal per se (although society seems to dictate that most liberals are against it and most conservatives are for it). I believe it's more a personal choice and no one, not a liberal or conservative should tell you whether carrying is the right thing or wrong thing to do. When you pull the trigger, you are the one who has to deal with the consequences, good or bad. But for those who are against it or choose not to carry, ask yourselves, why should the dirt bag with a gun pointed at you or your family have the upper hand and you not to at least have the choice to level the playing field?

  5. Yesterday was a perfect illustration of why to carry. The Mohawk police Department is in the same block as barber shop that he first hit. He drove about a mile to the car wash and that is within a mile of the Herkimer police Department. He then went to a parking lot. parked and walked by the Library and holed up in the building. That building is a block away from the Herkimer police department. and less thatn 2 miles away from State Police Troop D Barracks in East Herkimer. You can't get in a better place for response time and this guy was able to move untouched or observed by police to 3 locations. The police did a grat job in this whole scenario but it ilustrates that they can not be there when you need them in most cases.

  6. Tuckersdad ..you are so right...the weapon of choice was a double barreled shot gun(in the case I've mentioned before)...he would have taken out several ppl at the bar had he not put the gun up to the bar room window and shot...his victim was two foot from the door at the end of the bar...my Step sister had just lifted her head off the bar when he shot...taking out the victims rt shoulder and every glass down the bar...he reloaded thinking the doors were locked ...shot out the floor to ceiling dinning room window...reloaded and walked through to the restaurant kitchen and killed his victim as he was trying to crawl away... We are talking out in the middle of the country and the nearest State trooper and Sheriffs offices 5 miles away...There were still no police around when my step sister woke me screaming that it was happening..she'd run to find a phone....Now had he not been after just one person the double barreled shot gun could have killed a lot of ppl that New Years eve...If just one person had a gun...his victim may have survived The bar I use to manage ..the owner had a permit and a 45 under the counter at all times...tending bar at night alone ...I would not have hesitated using that 45 if it came to me or some nut case POINT IS...It's the nut jobs behind the weapon NOT the weapon

  7. Virgil was also one of the biggest advocates of the theory that the government wasn't trying to take any of your guns away. He said we were all paranoid about that too!

  13. What saddens me is that you or anyone else would be willing to give up the rights of yourself or others and hand the government more power over all of us.

  14. SO you are capable of protecting yourself against an armed gunman. sure. whatever helps you sleep at night. I sleep just fine knowing my chances of survival are better in my own hands. I don't need vast volumes of evidence to prove that I am better of with a CCW to protect myself. there are cases and I am confident in my ability to use it. If you aren't that is your choice. Just make sure your family know the wording so they can etch " I chose to be a victim" on you headstone.

  16. 'Taking away' would imply confiscation, which has never been discussed anywhere but in your head.

  19. Dont expect to find any there either. Every store Ive been to is out of everything that isnt an odd ball or wildcat round.

  20. Probably the same number. Listen to the stories from the people that were there, he had time to stand there and reload the shotgun. Capacity would have made no difference. He has already restricted those weapons, and again, it made no difference. Just like in Webster, the AR made no difference, that guy would have been able to pull off the same thing with a bolt action. Instead of trying to blame inanimate objects, try looking at what carries out these murders, people.

  21. I just hope its finally all said and done with so I can get out and hunt with my crossbow this year. Lets see if the state can finally do something right and make it legal, its been long overdue.

  22. How is this possible??? THe SAFE Act is in place and was going to prevent these types of things. According to Biden, shotguns are not as dangerous as the evil semi-auto rifles. This can't be true!!??!!! I wonder if the shotgun had a bayonette mount on it - maybe that was the problem.

  23. You could probably sling it over your shoulder like that guy on the bicycle...Let me see if I can find it.

  25. i think what happens in ny stays in ny. if its face to face out of state its that states laws that apply. if its gunbroker it always been through an ffl. $25 dollars and up for an ffl transfer for gunbroker. $10 for a private sale? yea right. good luck finding an ffl that will do that.

  26. Same here and F5 didn't work for me neither. Also "likes" aren't displaying in posts. Also attachments aren't showing on my end. Other than that, I have no complaints now that I've botched up all my PC settings thinking it was on my end.

  30. No matter what the circumstances are, Cuomo and the media will call it a gun problem. Thats why Cuomo is there. There have been several shootings/homicides, with multiple victims, in NY since he has taken office, but this is the first one he has ever shown up at. At least that I know of. For some reason, all of those inner city shootings don't deserve an appearance by Cuomo. Wonder why???Hmmmmmm. This guy is a low life opportunist.

  32. I feel for you. Glad to see you got out. I spent two years in Utica and that general area. Never again. Never. Ever. Ever ever. Ever ever ever. I am convinced the Devil lives there. I mean, my ex-wife is from there and lives there.

  34. Glad to see this posted about vests. I was thinking about buying one, but it seems like it'll be ok to carry a backpack or hip pack like some of the members previously posted. And just carry some necesseties (sorry for that mis-spelling) for the limited amount of time I'll be allowed to hunt in the woods.

  37. Reminds me of when I got rid of my truck and had an Impala SS for a short period of time. I had a tub I called the buck tub. Got it at Walmart for like $10 and it fit perfectly in the back seat. I think I put more deer in the back seat of that thing then I did women!
