Was out in Boulder, Colorado last week visiting family. Bought a 1 day license and did some fishing from shore at Gross Reservoir. We got 13 rainbows in 4 hours. Nothing huge, but still fun and good eating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

Wife, daughter , brother and I took soon to be 90 Pop fishing yesterday. Handful of decent sized largemouth, big pumpkinseeds and a mess of nice perch. He by far caught the most fish. Told him I was going to take back his new rod:reel combo for one that didn't catch more fish than the rest of us. Great day was had.3 points

Decided to give a turkey euro a try today. I didn't realize how many nuts and bolts were in one of these things. Fortunately I took LOTS of reference photos had some spare parts laying around in the bone pile just in case. I had to swap a few out that must have got misplaced or broken during the shootout. Still gotta add some finishing touches to it (nasal bones), but it's done for the most part. Most likely paint this one white. I'm not crazy about the look of bird skulls, but it was a fun/relaxing little project, and sure beat the heck out of mowing the grass......, again!1 point

A few weeks back some members talked me into going with climbing sticks instead of the screw in steps , thank you for that BTW . I decided to ditch the quick release pins on the climbing sticks and use tamper proof torx drive with all metal lock nuts , i chained the top of the sticks to the tree stand and around the tree . Im well aware that anything can be stolen but it just may be enough to make a theif pass on the set up because he isn't able to just remove and carry it away. If you want something even more secure you could use a shear head bolt but good luck getting those out .1 point

A politician is a politician, and I try to never forget that. But I've had it with the current state of NY. Highest cost in everything, ranked the lowest in many important categories. This is the Republican nominee, and he's got my vote. Heck, I've never put a bumper sticker of any kind on a painted surface of any vehicle I've owned, but I've got an Astorino in 2014 sticker on my daily ride now. Just helping with name recognition...1 point

My wife and I took the motorcycles to Erie to see the new F&S store. It's like a scaled down Bass Pro, a decent supply of camo clothes, archery, camping, smokers, seasonings, guns, and ammo. Some nice looking mounts on display. No great deals and everything they had is available for the same prices on line. I think they are associated with Dick's Sporting Goods? Any way it was a nice day for a ride and i am always interested in shopping for hunting stuff. Although I bet my wife knew it was safe going there on the bikes as she knew I couldn't find a way to put a new tree stand on the bike!1 point

Interesting.... I wonder if this phenomina has anything to do with your "there carring" post the other evening? Any recollection of being abducted or probed by little green men with bulging eyes that strange day? These pics look like they may have been taken from Uranus! It's quite possible you have time traveled through some inter-galactic worm hole into another dimension! WEIRD,lol!1 point

As a farmer I have planted corn in mid June three years ago because of wet spring weather. It turned out great, but each year is different, the frost held off and allowed the corn to mature and have good grain content for silage purposes. If we had an early frost it wouldn't have had the grain content. Planting crops is always a gamble. Good Luck !1 point

I think you are nuts to think of a Kayak for that reason, even a sit on top would be risky. The way I look at is gear weight, your weight, deer weight would be pushing a kayak to its limits. Better off with a 16 foot aluminum canoe that can hold amount 100 lbs more than a tandem yak. I would hit up some local garage sales and see what you can find for an old Aluminum canoe, I got one for a present that only cost $100 with a trolling motor. I also like how the canoe has a deeper hull, with less risk of getting gear wet or falling off.1 point

North American Cat Slam Complete! I got a Mountain Lion (10/31/12 in Arizona), Bobcat (1/2/13 in Minnesota), and a Lynx (12/31/13 in British Columbia, Canada). All 3 cats were Tom’s (males). Saturday, 12/28/13 = My Dad and I flew from Newark, NJ to Vancouver, British Columbia and spent the day and night in Vancouver. It was a pretty nice city. We walked around the city and ate/drank at Steamworks Brewery. Sunday, 12/29/13 = We flew from Vancouver, BC to Williams Lake, BC. It was about an hour flight over the mountains. At Williams Lake we were picked up by our guide, Paul Lowrie of Corkscrew Creek Adventures (http://www.resortsbc.com/Corkscrew-Creek-Adventures/[/url] ). Paul informed us that we soon would have no cell phone service until we got back to Williams Lake a week later, so we made our final calls and then he drove us 3 ½ hours to his house in Anahim Lake, BC. Anahim Lake is a pretty remote town on the Dean River (famous for fly fisherman), with most of the population made up by Native Indians. There aren’t many stores and most people do their shopping 3 ½ hours away in Williams Lake. The public high school is that far away in Williams Lake. Paul carried a “SPOT” when we were out hunting. It basically had 3 buttons (I’m OK, Help, 911). When the buttons are pressed they send a signal to his house computer where his wife can see if he still OK or needs help, etc. It gives her the exact gps coordinates on Google maps where he currently is. The 911 button is linked to the closest police/fire department. Pretty cool stuff. Anyway, on to hunting. I had a Lynx tag and a Wolf tag. My Dad didn’t have any licenses, he was here to see me hopefully get a Lynx.1 point

You can, and should, file the form with the State Police to request that your name be removed from that public list. A very common and straightforward process. I don't have the title of the form or the form # handy, but I'll look around and get it posted ASAP.1 point

Thanks guys! Sure... unplug your freezer and prop the door open so the bugs can get to work, lol Seriously, there wasn't much too it once the maggots and beetles cleaned everything up for me. Take plenty of pics before you dis-assemble the skull, and be very gentle with the delicate nasal bones inside the beak. Not that all will be lost if you break one.... I put everything back together with super glue anyhow, so a broken bone ain't no big deal. After I got everything picked and scraped off the bones, I gave them a bath in a tub of bleach for a few minutes then pulled them out to dry and whiten. Then I just put it all back together and gave it a paint job. I did a little reading up on the process before hand and heard it's best to degrease/whiten with acetone, but that was a bunch of taxidermists suggesting that. In "my studio", everything gets bleached and I never argue with the guy doing my work(me),lol Got the rest of the bones added to the inside today to get rid of that hollow skull look, and broke out the Rustoleum! Another masterpiece to my most important customer(me)!1 point
