Took my buddy's 12 yr old out East on L.I. this morning...had torrential rains and some fog..no gobbling...did some light calling and had a bruiser run in from across the field and beat the heck out of Pretty Boy decoy and then Frankie flattened him at 10 yds with his Mossberg 20ga...all done at 6:20AM...AWESOME hunt and got it all on video. Bird weighed 20.5lbs 1 1/4" spurs 11" beard9 points

Set the blind up last night to watch over the field this morning. I got there a little late (7:30) and there were two toms and 2 hens already out there doing their thing. Pretty sure they heard me undo the zipper on the blind as they made their way off. Did manage to yank a few gobbles out of them before they left, but other than that, it was pretty quiet out there. 2 different gobblers..5 points

Yea. I do about 2-3 minutes in the microwave to make them softer. Then mix with olive oil salt and pepper. Then on the grill for like 5min per side and they come out charred and taste great.3 points

Sounds like the Starter is shot. Its an easy enough fix. Disconnect the battery, & remove the old starter. See of the bendex gear is all chewed up.3 points

So this is what we saw at 6 ish this morning about 400 yds away ..... And they disappeared because we saw this a few minutes later.... Nothing since so we decided to come in. Too windy and they were spooked. Tomorrow is another day! Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab S23 points

My wife and daughter left for vacation at 2 P.M. My son brought home an awesome looking sub, for himself. So I made myself a toasted grilled cheese and ham sammy, that I forgot about and kind of burned, so now I'm just sitting here looking at all these awesome pictures of food. I hate all of you!! LOL!!!!2 points

Again ,,,Im just telling you the facts… You can do what you want. But selling, buying or possessing a rifle, as you described, is 100% illegal in NYS, unless the rifle has been made NYS compliant. Sounds like neither of the shops you have been dealing with knows WTH they are talking about. In NY, under LIL Andy…any semi automatic rifle (center fire or rim fire) that has a detachable magazine can not have a pistol grip, or a flash suppressor, or a bayonet lug or a collapsable stock or any other "evil feature". Its not hard to look up on line. Good luck.2 points

You know he wrote and collaborated with miles davis as well... he spanned many kinds of music.. his death is a great loss to music in general.. even local bands covered his music..goo goo dolls for.example,. He created Sheena e, the time, and helped madonna, beyonce, wutang clan write and produce many songs... rip..2 points

Prince was a better genius than some people even realize. Aside from all the hits he's made, he also wrote songs for other people who probably wouldn't have ever made it if it wasn't for him. He wrote "Nothing Compares 2 U" for Sinead O'Connor and "Manic Monday" for the Bangles among others.2 points

Damn, I seen him a couple times live. When Mack did his big comeback album with SRV's help, he played with keyboardist Stan Szelest of "Stan and the Ravens". Szelest played regular in Buffalo when I was living there and later moved to Woodstock where one would see him regular when he played with The Band's members locally. Mack showed up at one of those impromptu jam sessions I happen to catch and played a hell of a set. Szelest died years ago in his late 40's in Woodstock area. Lots of interwoven connections between all those talented musicians back then.....1 point

He could write both music and lyrics, play any instrument in front of him, sing, engineer or produce studio work, perform on stage, and at the same time keep the media titillated. That's not easy to do, and he did it for over forty years. Like his stuff or not, he was an extremely influential musical talent. He was an artist.1 point

If it turns out to be the starter, don't buy the new one from the dealer. Go to NAPA, they will have a good quality replacement for far less money than the dealer will get out of you.1 point

Haha. I was wondering if anyone was going to flame me for that without catching the "a few years ago" part. Good catch! But ya that pic is like 3-4 falls ago I believe. That area has a very healthy flock and was able to sustain a thinning of hens. We actually started shooting more hens during the fall to increase spring time fun. For years the flock kept growing and the toms just wanted nothing to do with us in the spring as they had so many hens already to choose from. There has been times we would sit on the porch at camp and count over 100 birds in a single group as they walked through our backyard/field. Otsego county has some great turkey hunting!1 point

and, if I recall correctly, didn't many of the AR compliant manufacturers recently notify owners that NYS told them that even the one's they have been making are no good? something along the lines of anything being built on an AR frame is considered an assault weapon...or something like that.1 point

Sweet! Thanks for the great reply that's a big help! I was thinking of making a run on Tuesday or Friday for crappies but will gladly take more perch if there are none to be found. Will report back if I get out with hopefully directions to the crappies for ya lol1 point

Agreed. And some people also don't acknowledge the talent of an artist simply because the artist doesn't play the kind of music they like to listen to. If they don't like his music, he must not be any good.1 point

Want to avoid all appearances of discrimination? Get ALL the human faces off the money. Use the Bald Eagle, Niagara Falls, Mt. Hood, a Blue Marlin, the Grand Tetons or any other specimen of nature in our land. That would shut the mouth's of all of the PC cry babies.1 point
