  2. This broken rack buck has some serious heft in his size. His right side of his rack is busted off, and even with it intact it’s not all that impressive. But, I’m not sure if he’s an old buck going downhill with his rack, or just a young big ass body buck not yet there with his rack. Looking at his deep chest and sway in his back, I’m really leaning towards him being old and past his prime. With as little pressure as my land gets, I know there are deer who easily could drop dead of old age if they just stay put on my property. He may fall in that category.

  3. Family obligations kept me out of the woods until the last 2 hours today. Then when I went to a different spot on my property for the first time this year, I found it so overgrown with multi flora rose I got shredded to pieces. Won’t go back there until I can take my tractor and brush hog to it to seek revenge! I did walk up on one deer and watched it jump up and run, but was so quick I couldn’t tell what exactly. I am going to try and post a pic on the thread for trail cameras here in a minute. I have older, cheap cameras by todays standards so not likely as good as the fancy ones, but one of my scrapes has several little bucks working it, and one buck with a broken rack that has a huge body and I wanted to share the pic of the tank.

  4. It's a strong subject for pro and anti firearm ownership in New York. Heating debates on this site showed that. I want my children, grand children, and their children to have the same right I have been given to own and bear firearms.

  5. Things seem to be picking up a little in 6g/ 6k. I heard Alot of shots today and had a spike 8 yrds in front of me. Hunting from the ground today that was Alot of fun. Also had a coyote pass by but didn't get a shot off. Seen a doe while still hunting my way back to the truck . A coworker who I was supposed to meet for lunch dropped a 10pt just a few miles away. 6. I hear ya. As age creeps up on me, the heated socks and gloves seem like a worth while investment. Just don't know what to buy.

  7. Good luck Tughill and anyone else headed out this morning. In about 20 minutes I'll be on my way out the door to go hit the woods too. No frost on the windsheids of the vehicles, and no wind blowing this morning. 7M

  8. Getting ready to head out for a full day of hunting on the hill. I couldn't ask for much better hunting weather. Good luck to everyone going out. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

  9. I would guess older and would let someone take him out that’s just looking to make meat. Personally I would not shoot him even if both sides were there but I would allow him to be hunted to make room and more food for a young up and comer. He is a beast no doubt.

  12. Piper Cub / Super Cub with coyotes hanging from the wings! Aerial hunting in the 1950s... and it's still done today in areas of high coyote density on livestock ranches in the upper Great Plains south into Texas.

  13. This evening I brought the buck decoy, this was the only deer I saw, puffed up to it and circled it twice.

  14. Man, that’s gotta hurt. Deer can be pretty tough critters. I’m thinking maybe an arrow slice from a poor shot.

  15. When it comes to maintaining my firearms I do not mess around with fads, I use what is proven and known to be the best. Anyone that wants to use scent free cleaning solvents and maintenance oils can have at it, it is a free country last I knew. My wife washes my clothes with whatever and the wool gets dry cleaned and all are saturated in permethrin. I know for a fact that you can not defeat a Deer's sense of smell so I use the terrain and watch the wind, never have a problem finding and killing a Deer if I want one but I am just a meat hunter.
