I was discussing this last evening with a Libbie from, ironically, Texas who is too busy feeling sorry for these "brown people" (her term used repeatedly)and is wholly unconcerned with American citizens. For the life of me, I just cant understand this!!

  2. Create a new law that requires certification (2023) and then eliminate the certified instructors without defining who will be accepted as certified instructors. Makes sense to me

  4. I don't think I have seen on the hoof more than a few bucks 150+ in my entire years of hunting deer in NY State. I just asked my hunting buddy who has hunted near big NY State land most of his life and he said only one.

  6. As with any small bullet going really fast, they get easily deflected by obstructions. It's one of the hazards woods predator hunters face when hunting at night where branches and brush aren't easily seen with NV and thermal optics. This male coyote ran into a swamp after the shot and I had to track it down and finish it off. This is the last coyote I took with my backup AGM Adder scope, as I sold it to a friend in upstate NY. 7. So to clarify - I have hunted 4 times in Illinois with Illinois Trophy Bowhunters, Inc. In 2009 killed a 149+ 8 pt. Probably the reason I have returned again. In 2012 I missed what I called the monarch as it been on camera for a couple of years. In 2018 I saw but never shot at the 180-185" and the last time in 2023 I never saw one I'd shoot. They are all working farms that are leased to the outfitter.

The vast majority of my Deer hunting and kills were with 12 ga slugs and for rifle my 280 Remington. Bottom line all what I used killed deer with no problem with a well placed shot. 9. New York: Senate Democrats Are Destroying Gun Safety By Removing NRA Trainer Certification More proof positive that New York Senate Democrats have never cared about “gun safety.” On Monday, February 5, the Senate Codes Committee is set to move on S.138A, which strips NRA certified instructors from state statute. Certifications expire Dec. 31, 2026, and the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) will then be responsible for creating curricula and promulgating rules and standards for trainer certification. Of course, there is zero evidence that they are willing or even capable of taking on the task. This bill passed the Senate last year, but it did not clear the Assembly before they ended their 2023 session. They are now bringing this legislation back early in the 2024 session, and everyone should be concerned. Please contact members of the Codes Committee immediately and respectfully request a “no” vote on S.138A by clicking the Take Action button below. For decades, the NRA has certified hundreds of thousands of trainers and has been the gold standard for firearms safety programs. There is no rationale for this move to eliminate these trainers, but the motivation is obviously purely political. This ill-conceived bill will impact almost everyone who carries concealed in New York as it will almost certainly throw the entire system into chaos, if not completely shut it down. Arguably every New Yorker is going to be impacted because they are eliminating firearms safety training as we know it. The agenda of Albany’s anti-gun Democrat Majority has become all too apparent – release criminals and disarm honest, law-abiding citizens. This has proven to be a recipe for disaster. For all their disingenuous talk about “gun safety,” eliminating the best training in the world seems to be more folly.

  10. International lawsuits threaten Americans' 2A rights: America's Second Amendment is deemed as a threat to the rest of the world. At least that's the narrative being used by the anti-gun group Global Action on Gun Violence (GAGV). The new organization recently raised a lawsuit representing Mexico against American firearms manufacturers and gun dealers over the claim that they are fueling cartel violence in Mexico. GAGV sees this as a potential new angle to exert international pressure on the U.S. to further limit Americans' Second Amendment rights. In its lawsuit, GAGV asserts that U.S. firearms policy violates its human rights obligations. This is an underhanded tactic to target American firearm manufacturers and blame them for the criminal actions of others. It seeks to further the entirely false claim that guns and not the individuals wielding them are responsible for crimes.

  11. Private gun sale ban? In an effort to further infringe on Americans' Second Amendment rights, the Biden administration plans to soon roll out new ATF regulations that would effectively ban private gun sales. As Tristan Leavitt, president of the whistleblower organization Empower Oversight Whistleblowers & Research, argues, "Such an expansive rule that treats all private citizens the same as federal firearms licensees would circumvent the separation of powers in the Constitution, which grants 'all legislative powers' to Congress while requiring that the president 'take care that the laws be faithfully executed.'" The new regulations wouldn't merely require a background check for private gun sales; they also would create a new threshold for anyone selling a firearm, effectively requiring them to register as a federally licensed firearms dealer to legally sell a firearm. Of course, the question of what constitutes a firearms dealer is key, as it has previously been defined as the selling of firearms for "the principal objective of livelihood and profit." That definition of "dealer" would exclude the vast majority of individuals who have sold a firearm. Leavitt noted that the White House directed the ATF to create this regulation and that "whistleblowers say the rule is being drafted by Senior Policy Counsel Eric Epstein, who worked as the Phoenix Field Office's Division Counsel during Operation Wide Receiver (a precursor of Operation Fast and Furious)." Leavitt says that these ATF regulations would so blatantly infringe upon the Second Amendment that he believes the courts would quickly overturn them. Therefore, Biden's likely motive is political, making it a disingenuous gun control issue on which to campaign.
