  1. Okay, you're right, that may be giving Jones too much credibility.
  2. Congratulations! I'm sure everything will be fine.
  3. I'll hop over and check out those always reliable sources Fox News and Breitbart. While I'm at it I'll see what Alex Jones and national hero Rush have to say
  4. Hey, if you guys like sharing "fake news" then share away. Problem is that too many people buy it, regardless of political party.
  5. God bless them and keep them safe!
  6. A quick search shows that both of these are false, sorry. I actually noticed because someone told me that Trump had said the "People are dying" comment. False on that one as well.
  7. This is the most persuasive argument I have seen you make, in my opinion at least. It doesn't persuade me that anyone needs a rapid triggering device, but I won't be signing any petitions to have them banned. Thanks for the thought Rattler, this one resonated with me.
  8. It's a foster style. I've killed deer with them out of both an 1100 and my current A5. They've always performed well for me. Illinois was a shotgun only state (outside of ML and handgun) so slug guns take plenty of deer each year back home.
  9. Thanks to your daughter for being out there fighting this thing, and the oft forgotten people like you who are holding things together at home so they can be heroes. Everyone is necessary in this.
  10. Just thinking about guns I wish I still had, and curious what everyone else regrets not having anymore (I know, super cheery topic). I have 2 on my list. Both guns were stolen when our house was robbed years ago, but one was returned. I really miss my H&R 999 Sportsman. Such a fun little plinking gun. The other was my S&W 29. Soon after we moved to NY I got a call from a detective in Illinois saying they had caught the guys who robbed us, and had recovered my 29. I didn't think much of it, but 2 days later, FedEx shows up with it. I would have figured they would need it for evidence, but I guess not. So, not having a pistol permit, I decided to take it back home to Illinois over Thanksgiving and leave it with my dad. I told him that if he could sell it for, what I thought was a ridiculously high price, to do so, and low and behold a week after we left, he had sold the darn thing. I'm not gonna complain too much, I doubled my money on it, but I sure wish I would have hung onto it. I bought both of these guns from my uncle, more like a grandpa, and I think most of my sentiment comes from that. I still have some knives that I bought off of him, and some he gave me, but I wish I had those guns to remember him by as well.... Anyone care to commiserate?
  11. I have a QAD Ultra Rest, and it works fine. I too came from using a Whisker Biscuit and didn't have too many problems once I got used to keeping the arrow on the darn thing.
  12. So, I've obviously been using this down time to overthink things. The bow I recently purchased came with vertical sights, and I honestly can't say I love them. Sure, the 10-20 pin is fine, but as you move up the scale, I find that it's hard to see. Now, I know the simplest answer is to go back to a standard (horizontal?) pin sight. However, I've been wondering about off center sighting. Similar to placing the front sight of a rifle just below your desired poi, what about sighting just to the right of the target with the sight pin? It also seems like it could help a little at further distances where the pin covers the target. Could be a stupid idea, but it wouldn't be my first, and certainly won't be my last. Does anyone do this? I
  13. I'm fairly certain that in a mass shooting situation you're not going to casually be toting your Mini-14 and happen to have this "tool" hanging around in your pocket. Sure, argue cover fire with your cc all you want, but a bump stock or whatever this thing is, is totally impractical. Therefore, the only use for this or any rapid triggering device is for combat (which there are many better options available to legitimate militaries), amusement, or shooting large amounts of people. If amusement is your thing, so be it, but if these were to be banned with other rapid fire accessories, I wouldn't shed a tear in the name of liberty. Las Vegas drove home that one for me. I am in agreement, using cover fire as an argument for these things is not enough to win me over.
  14. To each their own, but my guns are basically for hunting and a very occasional fun plinking day. I honestly never think about having to arm myself an apocalypse or a breakdown of government or even basic home defense. I'll tell you what, if humanity depends on me and my trusty Remington 550, we're pretty much screwed I'm sure there are some on here that think that is stupid or shortsighted, but I'll leave you to your own devices if you leave me to mine. As long as I have enough to go hunting with, I'm happy
  15. I'd say he had plenty of cash to disappear with. That dude hopped a private jet to CR and told Carol if she kept her mouth shut she could have the rest. I'd say he had a lot more going on than just tigers if he had the kind of cash they claimed he did. I did enjoy seeing that they had his mechanic and handyman as personal contacts on the show
  16. Agreed, good luck everyone!
  17. Oh, I'm sure that plenty is staged, but there's a lot of it that is to well documented to be a farce. For instance, nearly 20% of Oklahoma voters voted for Joe Exotic as governor....
  18. I think Carol Baskin's husband hightailed it to Costa Rica.
  19. I don't really want to engage with you on this Rattler. You obviously see a reason for civilians to have this "tool", and I do not. We'll leave it at that.
  20. I haven't shaken my head this much in years....it's nuts.
  21. Anyone watching The Tiger King on Netflix? This might be the craziest bunch of people I've ever watched in my life, and I can't take my eyes off of it.
  22. Boy, you could shoot a lot of people pretty quickly with that thing. Thanks for sharing! *Sarcasm for those who don't know...
