  1. Good luck Chef ! Hope it didn't go far so you have a nice easy recovery !
  2. Did it go Bang Flop , or did it vibrate a bit before going silent ? Been there done that ! Thought I killed it on the 1st shot , but it came back to life 10 min later because I only hit the snooze button . Had to give it a second shot to finish it off !
  3. Holy Smoke Pole ! Thats a beautiful gun ! Love the engraving and color of the stock .
  4. Atta Boy ! Happy Birthday ! Hope you still have teeth left to chew the cake !
  5. One helluva morning out there Hockey ! You scored the tying goal with the Yote and then the game winning goal with the spike ! Congrats to both of you !
  6. Hoping for the best outcome for you DB . Did you try to line up a tracking dog for the morning ? Dont worry about the meat . It will be fine
  7. Tacks , is that #3 already ? You are going to need another freezer !
  8. Cant wait to see the smiling faces of the youth hunters posing with their harvest ! great thing you are doing G-Man !
  9. Grampy is right about all these type of snakes can have different shades of colors and markings. Looking at the species of snakes in CT , the one that looks the closest in color and markings is the Eastern Rat Snake which also has a variety of markings and shades . The shape of it being thin makes it look like a Racer. But the markings and color of this particular snake resembles a Rat Snake. Could be either one . Watched a video on Racers and WOW are they FAST !
  10. S B how long have you lived there ? Did you save any of your previous paper bills that show your usage ? If you have an online account and pay your bill on the electric companies website , they usually have a graph of your usage and how much you paid monthly . Ours shows the past 3 years . Check for that and see if you see a huge spike in usage somewhere . If you find one , try to think what work you had done or something new that was purchased or installed. Im not in NY , but supposedly NH has much higher rates than NY . My highest bill has been $270 for 2500 sqft house . I attribute that to the 4 window AC units running 24/7 and the kids dont have a clue to shut the lights off and leave a lighted trail behind them LOL .
  11. That green nock has a purpose . Thats the one Tacks is going to send on the " Money Shot " at the Big One !
  12. Did he say if he is still on a blood trail ? Only Chef would know , but when he mentioned it looked like the arrow nose dived after the hit , I expected the arrow to hit either the bottom of the opposite lung or cut some of the main arteries near the heart on the downward deflection . That blood was not dripping out of the exit hole . That was pouring out . I expected the buck would be dead within a couple hundred yards . Especially being left alone overnight . Really hope he finds him .
  13. I just looked up the student loan interest rate set for 2023 . For a 30 year loan on 324,000 dollars for the 4 years at the 5 percent interest rate , its ONLY $1,783 a month for the next 30 years for that student loan ! Looks like he will be living with you for quite a while !
  14. Looking at those pools of blood , I think he is dead Chef . Any sign of bleeding from both sides ? Hoping you get a quick recovery and your update will have a target buck pic on the ground . Best of luck to you !
  15. That the same spot you skewered the one rack buck last year Chef ? The Blackstone is waiting ! Good Luck And Make Meat !
  16. Saw a video made in the middle a brutal winter that showed a deer eating a frozen dead rabbit
  17. I could be mistaken , but pic 1 , 2 and 3 are definitely the same buck . Pic 4 might be a different buck , but the tines look identical in shape with the same lengths ,small twists and curves as the first 3 pics . Just the pic is closer and a different angle . Pic 5 is a guess . Too far away and you cant see both sides of the rack. Good looking 3 yr olds or 3 yr old and a 4 yr old
  18. YUP ! Had one in the basement last week . Must of came in through our garage under. Wife went downstairs to get something out of the extra fridge and I hear her AAAAAAHHHH !!!!! I thought she got hurt . She yells up up to me there is a frog on the floor ! I went down and threw it out on the back lawn . At nite sometimes I have one or two frogs climbing on the glass on the slider . They are there to get the bugs that are attracted to the light. They are quite the stalkers . LOL
  19. Went to my local gun shop today . He just got in 10 sleeves of Federal 209's . Already has 20 people on a waiting list for them.
  20. How times have changed in an instant. I bought this sleeve in late Aug or 1st week in Sept in 2019 . I bought a sleeve of Win 209's , a sleeve of Triple 777 primers , and this sleeve of CCI 209 Magnum primers at the same time . The Win and the Triple 7 was $3.95 and the CCI Magnums you can see were $4.25 . The sad part is I dont even need or use the magnum primers . I use the Pyrodex and Triple 7 pellets which the other primers work just fine with . If there was a way to send them to you I would.
  21. Of course you could always save money and do it yourself
  22. I dont believe the rivets go through the stock . If they did , that would be one of the dumbest things you can do to a gun. Like Tacks mentioned , rain would ruin that stock having a soaked leather cover over it. If you look closely at the 1st pic , you can see why the shop said he cant take it off . There is a small eyelet screwed into the stock on the bottom where it is laced , and the lace runs through it to holds the leather in place. The lace is then somehow fused together at the end of the wide side of the leather. Thats why he cant slide it forward to remove it without cutting the lace . Worthless idea in my opinion .
