  1. Looks really cool, nice mount! LOL with the dog!
  2. Looking forward to seeing your progression with him! Dumb luck often hits the new hunters, I hope he gets clobbered! Good luck!
  3. Looks like a beauty, good luck with him!
  4. I was kind of hoping you won the lotto! lol I guess you won't be buying tickets and a trip to Africa with that windfall.
  5. I would retire, buy a house on the salt water with a pond in the back, fish and hunt EVERY DAY! Pay off my families mortgages and taxes. New hunting truck!
  6. I used the Beeman ICS hunter pro but they discontinued them. Now I shoot Easton Da Torch but they stopped making them also. The Easton Hex is the same weight so I will switch to them next, unless they discontinue them also!
  7. Very good, don't worry one bit. How does your shoulder feel now? Sometimes just taking one or a few shots is better than overshooting.
  8. Looks 4 to me but that is only based on the dark last picture if that was from last year. Get him so we can find out! Stud!
  9. Yes they can jump even higher than that regardless if its real or not. I think it is, probably had a bunch crossing the road this is why both cars stopped to take a pic. The angle is also a factor on why it looks so high when in reality he is probably 8 ft high, no problem from a 4 ft burm.
  10. If you get a buck like Elmo stated some officers want to see proof so you need to take the sex organ. If you have all the meat in one pack I don't think you need to label every bag but when you butcher it's suppose to be labeled on every separate piece. If you are not sure you can contact the DEC and ask, they are friendly don't be afraid! On LI I would just drag it out and bring it to a butcher. Nice thing is if you do it in the field you have less chance of bring home ticks and other parasites. This is the main reason I let someone else butcher my deer, worth every penny. IMO.
  11. No this one is before Indian Lake in North Creek. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.6913695,-73.9922019,15z
  12. Looks good! Keep at it and you will be ready for the season, good luck!
  13. Post the first pic when you shoot, groups are great but that first shot is what counts and is what this post is about. Lets see that first shot! Vary your distance! 27 yards, 36 yards etc.
  14. The transfer station is actually in North Creek, bear signs all over, just be careful you don't run one over.
  15. Looks good! I like the straight (He is looking right at ME!) pose!
  16. My running deer was charging me! My 2010 8 pt. I called him back to within 35 yards and after the first shot he came right at me. To say I was a bit stressed would be an understatement.
  17. When this guy was on he would complain about a 1/4 inch difference at 60 yards, he is a great shot. Like stated you can draw straight down and still be ok. The issue is when you don't keep your upper body aligned properly your peep will be misaligned horribly. This issue is when you don't have experience and your first buck comes in, all form sometimes gets thrown out the window and all the shooter sees is that the pin is directly on the deer. All I can say is that it happens all the time with new hunters under stress and sometimes experienced hunters in the same situation. This is a perfect example of a hunter under stress and her husband says she is a great shot! Sometimes all we see is the sight and forget we have a peep to align, simple as that. IMO. I have shown this before but it is obvious to me she is not bending at the waist and probably does not even see the peep for alignment.
  18. Want to know how to butcher up your deer? We will have a demonstration on that as well.
  19. I was explaining how most archers from a stand miss high because they do not bend at the waist properly and this causes the peep to be mis-aligned. My buddy who is a great shot and missed 2 deer at about 10-15 yards was like O that is why I keep missing them! lmao Like Jeremy K stated you need to get to full draw and line up your peep then bend at the waist! Funny how so many do this wrong. Shooting like you are in stand in practice is the only way to make sure you are good, thankfully at Suffolk Archers we have a couple of elevated shooting positions.
  20. 4 point 7 point 8 point 9 point Still trying to get that elusive 10 point! I will settle for a 12 or 14.
  21. If you do drives, still hunt, stalk or track this type of shooting is needed. Simply put not every buck will stop with a Meah call or any call at times.
