  1. Get them early before they go girl crazy, lol.
  2. Saw this a long time ago love her enthusiasm! No one cares about the big horned sheep! 2 funny he is awesome for getting this on film and sharing it! Love it!
  3. Stop him from beating up those poor trees! Someone has to defend them! lol On a serious note that also gets my blood pumping! Something about a rub that just says it's time.
  4. That is rough, I would check and test the compound simply as a backup. With you shooting the other bow as you do I would imagine the compound would be on target at those distances.
  5. Fixed or mechanical. If fixed I would try a mechanical just to see if it hits the same as the field tips.
  6. It will hit high by dropping weight. If the bow is really fast it will be slight but it will always hit higher if you drop weight. I would be hesitant unless your paper tune is way off.
  7. This forum is filled with experienced hunters. If you need some advice start a new post and fill it with questions the members here are pretty awesome in that respect!!! You can post it here if you want. Most of the stuff we cover can be found in books, the other things you learn is from time in the woods. Otherwise we a tournament this weekend, I will be at Suffolk Archers. If you come down I can go over everything we covered. We also have one more before the season starts. Otherwise if that is no good PM me and I can give you a tour of the club and go over everything.
  8. Go back to basics. Shoot blank target and just concentrate on floating the pin and using proper form. Try not to get so specific on shot placement. Within a few inches is a kill shot so don't concentrate on a perfect shot and float the pins over the target, let it float up down, left right before you shoot so you get use to seeing the pin going over the spot. Are you using a back tension release or a trigger? If using a trigger focus on using your back tension to release the trigger vs punching it. Back tension focus on form. I had it pretty bad at one point. Shoot less with better form, 20 shots with perfection is better than 50 with 10 bad shots.
  9. Set the next pin the same distance as the 30-40 and test it at 50, if its on your good. It should be close. Otherwise it could have to do with the arrow rest height. That I would bring it to a bow tech to check if everything is in tune. If it is your should be fine.
  10. Nice, he does look polished. Good one Moog5050!
  11. A few of my friends shoot over 10 deer a year most years, DEC will not limit us on LI they simply want as many doe killed as possible.
  12. Real Beauty! What do you think happened to his G3 on the left side?
  13. Yea I got that special text message. Not really what I wanted to see!
  14. That is one awesome shot at 90! Nice!
  15. Wait a week or so and post that second picture as a mountain lion! lol
  16. It was a great day we had a good turn out but not as many as last year. Hope to advertise some more next year. I went to this event about 5 years ago to show a buddy who was just starting with bow some of the finer points in hunting. After teaching him along with the instructors how to do things I became interested in doing it myself. (I always gave him extra information on tracking, calling and navigation and thought why not help teach others so they can get a head start with the learning curve.) Great group of people showed up with experienced and knowledgeable hunters simply sharing stories and enjoying each others knowledge, experience and skills. Almost like getting a bunch of us together to teach new hunters! I just wish this was available when I first started!!! Thanks for coming Left field! If you have any questions on tracking, calling, deer sign, shot placement or anything else, this is an awesome forum with experience members, don't be afraid to ask or send me a PM if you want to keep it personal. Again thanks for coming hope you enjoyed and learned a few things!
  17. We really do have a nice state with varied terrain and people. The falls are nice, Catskills, ADK, rivers and lakes, gorges! The sound and ocean. All I can say about being IN the water is I want to be OUT if something can actually swallow me, even if by accident!
  18. 30 yards, I hit a bit high, just in the 10 ring.
  19. It's great because it gives beginners a place to start. Looks like great weather, should be a good day! If anyone stops by be sure to say Hello, I will be at the shot placement and the calling table. Jeff Calderone
  20. I'll take two please.
  21. ATBuckhunter will be doing shot placement, he did a great job last year! I will be doing some calling, I will try to set up a video to post.
  22. Weather looks good for Sunday!!! Bring friends! It's free and we will have hot dogs and burgers for lunch. Should be a good time with some great people! We have a bow tech on site and will be testing bows for K.E. and tuning for the hunting season. Shot placement, deer calls, tracking!
