Just went to the DEC web site you have till 10/1 to get your dmp's then if there are any left overs they will be made available on 11/1. your odds of getting a DMP are same weather you apply on the 1st or last day

I use them what I like about them it makes it easier to see where you hit, Also to find your arrow after the shot. They do add weight to the back end so you have to tune for that. here is another thing you can use lighted nocks for keep an arrow with a field point and a lighted nock for following a blood trail. put the arrow in a blood spot turn it it then go to the next spot.

9p I have not pull any cams yet still recovering from a full knee replacement. the cams have been out since may. there should be some nice deer on them and maybe a BIGFOOT (LOL) DID GET A DMP

Years ago deer drives was the way to go you may sit for a few hours in the morning. Then it was deer drive time in the afternoon with us young guys doing most of the driving and the old guys on stand. Now we are mostly sitters. Sometime I miss those days it was just plain fun. We bow hunted mostly off the ground till the Baker tree stand came along I started with a recurve till the Bear White tail came along.

I reload and I’m currently working up a hunting load for my 6mm rem. I am only using Hornady bullets right now out of the major manufactures I think they make the best bullets. I have shot the 95gr at up 3100fps and shot less than 1” groups at 100. I am now trying there 103gr ELD-X bullet this is the best bullet for hunting I have seen in a long time. If you only have a choice between a SST or a core loc. I would shoot what works best in your gun they will both kill deer. Dead is dead they can’t be any deader.

I would contact the DEC and have them check it out. They do want you to report all sick or injured deer I would show them all the pictures you have of that deer. It may be a broken jaw or something worst. Keep us inform on what’s going on with the deer

Here’s what I think of 3d printed gun they’re as dangerous to the shooter as they are to the victim. Here’s why you can’t put rifling in the barrel well you can but the first time a bullet hits the rifling it will rip it out of the barrel. Barrel pressure on a rifle can be up to 60000psi and there is the heat. I saw a guy shooting a AR with a lower made out of plastic with the AR having a gas tube it’s going to heat up fast if a thermo- plastic is used any place that touches the upper will melt, even thermo-set plastics will break down. here is one more thing if you can afford the printer then you can afford a scanner and solid works or master cam or something like that so you won’t need on line blue prints you just make your own.

You can apply just to get the points. just remember just because you will get a point this year it does not mean you will get a DMP next year. It could take up to 3 or 4 points to get a DMP. One thing you will have to remember you only get a point on your 1st choice you can sill not get your 2nd choice.

Wow we are aging are selves if we can talk about Creek side gun shop. They had two of the best gun smiths a round. For powder near by I would say Running or Bass Pro or Cabelas there are some gun shops that may have powder.

It's not what I think that matters i'm not going to be hunting where you hunt. if you're happy with shooting that deer then go a head. If not then let it walk why should it matter what we think!
