well I've been bow hunting twice that long. I remember getting 1 tag for a buck good I both bow and gun and a doe permit was called a party permit you would have up to 5 guys on a permit you could kill a doe in bow. So when you get older you may learn what’s really important hopefully not looking down at your 20year old praying he doesn’t die.(he didn’t)

don't call me anti-bow I'm taking off almost all of November to bow hunt and I will shot 120 to 140 class buck but I will pass on bucks during gun season unless its bigger than the one I shot in bow. just to let you know the last time I shot 2 bucks in the same year was 2004

Just wondering what’s the problem with steel it has come a long way in the last 25 years. What are you going hunt? if its waterfowl I would just use steel you can get velocities from 1200 to 1700fps and you get 25per. Box not 10per box

jjb4900 100% agree with your post. just called the DEC on how your gun tag will covert if you don't fill it. it will still go to a ether sex tag except in the doe only wmu's where it will be a doe tag. and you can move back and forth between zones.

Your ether sex tags or gun tag the way I just read it is still ether sex in the late season unless you are hunting in one of the antlerless only wmu’s. so if you choose to hunt one of those wmu’s then yes it’s does only. So it’s up to you move or hunt does.

Your gun season buck tag will roll over to ML but in 8g you can only use as a doe tag not an ether sex tag confusing isn’t it. Wait till next year that's going to be confusing.

Hey Steve863 you are right on the mark. There are a lot more things more important than killing a big buck. These guys are lucky they didn’t do the first 15 day in November. This is going to be the first time in a long time I’m going to have 26 days off in November. Maybe by the way some of these guys are talking I should of taken the days off in October instead.

I live in 8g and can hunt behind my house I also hunt 9p and 8m. It’s nice to be able to hunt out back before or after work. I agree that the prime reason we are not killing enough does is because of lack of access. Now that the DEC has made their decision on the regulations we can’t change what the DEC has done. There’s only a few things we can do you can like some have suggest shoot a buck anyways and be a poacher. You can, not hunt at all or wait till after the first 15 days. Maybe you can check out a new spot to hunt. Oh here’s something really novel just go out and hunt and enjoy not having to work and have fun. So stop crying and put on your big kids under ware. Yes they were loaded but they didn’t have heavy weapons (50cal). If they weren’t loaded them someone made a mistake. They were there to keep the pace not make war(keep the Israelis and the different factions from going to war) their rules of engagement were not the same as ours we went in to the city the Marines did not.

First let’s dispel the 3000 yard shot with 7-08. Farthest kill shot was with a 338-lupua mag in 2014 and it was at 2474 yds. The 7-08 is a 308 neck down to 7mm. Remington brought out the round back in the 1980’s it was a wildcat long before that. It is one of a number of very good cartridges based on the 308 win starting with the 243win. Whether you use a 139gr or a 140gr bullet it makes no difference Hornady makes a very good bullets. So pick one you like and go with it. it will work and don’t over analyze this.

Just to let you know that the A-Max bullet is a target bullet. It may be good for white tails and mule deer but you may not get penetration, on larger game like Elk. I would use something like a IB bullet in the same weight in stead of a A-Max
