My longest shot at a deer is 150 paces with a Remington xp-100 in 6mm br rem. That was a 1 shot head shot in an open bean field with a good rest. But all my other deer have been 75yd’s or less mostly less.

I killed two does on Wednesday so I put a camera on the gut piles. Here are some of the pictures I got. I expected to get a picture of a BIGFOOT because they say BIGFOOT love deer and deer guts. But all I got was a BIG ASS BEAR. I’m disappointed I didn’t get a BIGFOOT picture.

Here my view on the 7.62 x 39 it’s a better pistol round then a rifle round pretty cool in a Tc. Now for the AR verses the AK. Going to war anywhere on this planet I’ll take the AR/M-4 over the AK every time. But if I was told I was going to an alien planet and can only take one weapon it would be an AK-47 you can break it and its good an enough.

Is anyone hunting 9p I’m hunting north of swain. Just wondering if you are seeing deer. I’m seeing deer every time I go out I have not been doing all day sits yet. I don’t start till November I also have the whole month but 4 days off.

I would try the slower velocity slugs first 1700fps or less that barrel has a 1:35 or 1:33 twist rate. That twist rate has a harder time stabilizing the faster slugs. The 1800 to 2000 fps slugs like a 1:28 twist rate that’s not to say that the slower twist won’t stabilize the faster slugs. My gun likes copper solids but there not cheap it will also shoot federals fusion there cheaper.

I hunt 8g, 9p and 8m I only hunt 8m during the ML season so I use what tags I have left. If I kill a doe in 8g during bow I put that deer on my 8g dmp if I kill a doe in 9p with a bow that deer goes on my antlerless bow ml tag weather I have a 9p dmp or not. If happen to have a 9p dmp I save it for gun season

If you are thinking the gun is primarily for elk or moose I would look at nothing smaller than a 7mm rem mag up to one of the 338’s

Here some places to start on the east side all are on river rd. but you may run into other hunters. The power lines, the Y where river rd. goes into the park, the trail that goes down to the river flats if you get a deer down there it’s all up hill. Also you may want to look for a corn or bean field then find the nearest trail head and get behind the field in the park and wait for the deer to come out of the field. Remember there is a antler restriction in the park.

So let me get this straight you killed a doe and put it on your ether sex tag “by mistake “. Putting the doe on the ether sex tag is ok. But now you killed a buck and you have no tag for it. First it’s up to you to keep track of your tags. Your next problem is both deer weren’t killed on the same day. I would call the DEC and explain your mistake to them. At best you will get a good dressing down and loose the deer at worse you will get a good dressing down loose the deer and get a ticket. But by manning up to your mistake will go a long way in if you have to pay a fine and how much that fine will be.

nope not trying to make this go 50 pages JUST THINK IT'S FUNNY NOT HUNTING SOMEWHERE FOR 2WEEK THEN GO UP IN THE STAND ON THE 15th AND KILL THE SAME DOE THEY COULD OF KILLED ON THE FIRST DAY.

Yep must not know the concept of not contaminating area with 8 p&y’s net and another 6 gross all but 1 take from stands hunted more than once. As soon as you set foot into the woods its contaminated weather it’s the first time or the 10th time and there is nothing you can do about it. So its BS not hunting a stand.

Here’s what I think is funny. all the guys who said they weren’t going to hunt the doe only 2 weeks. If a doe goes by them on the 15th they will shoot it. Cracks me up someone would give up 2 weeks of hunting.
