There is no bear hunting in the park you will be arrested plus you may get hypothermia. no you can't kill bear in the park and no rifles.

I may be able to clear this up wildlife management unit and a DEC region are not the same. A management unit can be in more than one region. I hunt in unit 9P witch is in both regions 8 and 9 with most of the unit in region 9. So the unit that you want to hunt can be in both 6 and 7. One more thing you have to look at is when a unit like 9P is in more than one county you have to know what county your hunting in. 9P is in both Allegany and Livingston County and up till this year Allegany was rifle and Livingston was not. Where I hunt in 9P the road was the dividing line between the two counties one side of the road rifle one side not.

Leaving tomorrow for Fort Benning my son graduates on Thursday and Friday he gets his ropes on Thursday and graduates on Friday. Then off to air born school till the 31st. then he thinks he will be going up to Brag till January when he goes to special forces selection. He will be coming home in December for 15 days.

I did go to the Dicks in Greece NY and have my dmps reprinted. They seem to know that you can't cut the dmps. they said they were first told you could cut them then they (DEC) realized the numbers for the dates were being cut off. Just remember we are responsible for filling out the tags correctly.

Hey guys there's something you all need to be aware of with your DMP's. If your DMP's are printed on the new paper they maybe miss align to the top, so the doc number of the second dmp is above the perforation is on the bottom of the first dmp. DO NOT CUT THEM to separate them. I notice this problem on my dmp's. I was just going to cut them to separate them just above the doc number then I notice if I do that I would not be able to cut out some of the day numbers on the back of the dmp. So I called the DEC at Region 8 and was told to have at lease the one with the miss alignment reprinted. So I went to the town clerk office to have them reprinted and they said I would to have cut them. I called the DEC back and told them what I was told by the clerk. DEC called Albany and got back to in less then 30 min. YOU NEED TO HAVE THEM REPRINTED YOU CAN NOT CUT THE NUMBERS OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP DMP. I would check all my tags carefully if they are printed on the new paper.

No of coarse not but I don't own the camp and I don't get paid time off so any time I take off it cost me money you may be able to afford time off and not get paid. But I can't.

Here's why I'm not in favor of 1buck per season. First let me state I haven't killed 2 bucks in a season since 2004 and when I say season I mean bow, gun and late bow- ML. I hunt 9p so I don't get a dmp every year and I have 2 kids. If a big 10pt comes by in bow season I'm not going to let it pass. Now I can still hunt in 9p where camp is even if I don't have dmp. With a 1 buck rule that means I'm not taking the time off to go to camp if I can't hunt. That means my kids don't go if I don't go. DEC says only about 5% of hunters kill 2 bucks in 1 year. Buck don't control herd size.

You could try Buck Pond in Greece DU and the DEC have done some wetland improvements there but you have to get there early! Also the south ends of both Conesus and Hemlock lakes.

Even though I'm old and out of practice. I still think I could take him out in 2 to 3 days and he would never hear the shot that killed him. This is what happens when you try to take them a live save the tax payers some time and money just kill him. Nothing like hunting humans. ONE SHOT ONE KILL!

Your right you can shoot 2 bucks in the late bow/ml in the southern zone. As long as you have your regular season and bow/ml ether sex tag. Remember you also get a bow/ml antlerless tag its not a doe tag its a antlerless tag. If you're good you could shoot 2 bucks and 7 antlerless deer all in the late bow/ml season.

I'm glad they don't know about the 8 p&y bucks I have and the 6 that gross p&y.

I would call the adjacent land owner or owners to see if its someone on there property. Then you may find out who but to kick.

First the state dose not make extra money by increasing the number of DMP's in any one WMU. There is only so many hunters that would hunt that WMU no matter how many DMP's are available. Once you pay your $10 you can get up to 4 DMP's. Here is why they are giving out so many DMP's. So lets take WMU 8G last year they gave out about 37000, out of that many DMP's 5162 antlerless deer were harvested 17.1 to 19.1% of that number were buck fawns. 8G has a buck harvest goal of 2.5 bucks per sq.mile the buck harvest for 8G last year was 4.3 bucks per sq. mile. So they increased the DMP's for this year the success rate in 8G is 13.9%. The numbers came from the DEC weather you think there numbers are right or not doesn't matter unless you can prove theirs are wrong. Remember WMU 8G is 686.2sq. Miles they have to manage all of it not just our little parts.

They've been talking about a 1 week early ML season in the southern zone for some time now. It was to take place in WMU's with high deer numbers (deer focus areas). It would not take place though out the entire southern zone. So you may see it happen lets say 8G where they can't give out enough DMP's to get the doe harvest they want and then you wouldn't see it happen in 8M where they are with in 10% of there harvest goal.

That's why I advocated for the late bow season to go into January instead of opening up 2 weeks earlier. The DEC at the time was willing to add 3 maybe 4 weeks to the late season. But no one was pushing to add days late. The NYB was pushing for the October 1st opener because when the state went to the 3rd Saturday in November opener for gun. We lost up to 9days of bow season so they said you oh us the first 2 weeks in October.

Has anyone shot the NEW FEDERAL muzzle loading bullet yet and how well dose it shoot. I can't seem to find them anywhere.
