Hey has anyone shot the power belt platinum they shoot good out of my gun. I don't like the way the copper plated power belts perform they come a part and would not leave a exit wound. The platinum's seem harder. I have also shot the Hornady version in 300gr and they shoot good to in both my inline and hawken my side lock has a 1 in 48 twist rate so it wont shoot round ball or sabots well it was made to shoot maxi's.

Question about traveling with hunting riffle overseas
Larry replied to lastedtiger's topic in General Chit Chat
I had no Problem just carried it on right up the ramp of the c-130 only thing they wouldn't land the plane we had to jump. -
I been doing this along time. I don't get nervous about a hunt excited yes but never nervous. As long as you are prepared there is no need to get nervous.

I always take it off

Right now it looks like the Republicans have taken control of the state senate. This should help us keep are guns a little longer. -

My turn to tell what I like for deer hunting. I use a 444marlin for deer that's because that's what I have and it kills deer. That being said if I were looking for a rifle to hunt deer or bear in NY and not going to hunt anything bigger. The caliber I would pick would be the 7mm-08 then 308. that is what I would choose. There is nothing wrong with any cal. Of the other meadem calibers. But I just love my 444.

for the squirrels that sound like deer or just plain annoying!!!
Larry replied to Geno C's topic in General Chit Chat
I would try Miss K's recipe for squirrel brains sounds yummy to me. -
I think you and your lawyer need to read: 1NYCRR PART 68. CAPTIVE CERVID HEALTH REQUIREMENTS the herd can be destroyed if deemed necessary. And they don't have to reimburse for your deer.

just go with 130's there just deer you can kill them with a 22 rim-fire

Four season this is how fast the state can shut you down. I as-um the state checks you deer for diseases. All they have to do is find one of your deer with CWD and they would shut you down and kill every deer you own. So I wouldn't say they can't shut you down and like one guy has said if they want your land they can come and take it. They would pay you what they call fair compensation for your land.

Ozone generators are devices/appliances that create ozone (O3), a poisonous gas, for the purpose of sanitizing water and/or air in homes and in industrial settings. In sufficient concentration, ozone causes damage to lung tissue and respiratory airways. Even low concentrations can cause chest pain, shortness of breath resulting from a decrease in lung function, coughing and eye and throat irritation. Ozone can worsen chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and reduce resistance to respiratory infections. People show wide variability in susceptibility to the effects of ozone. Yet even healthy people can experience breathing problems when exposed to the gas. Exercise during exposure causes inhalation of greater amounts of ozone, thereby increasing the risk of harmful respiratory effects. Recovery from harmful effects can occur following exposure to low concentrations of ozone, but health effects can become serious and recovery uncertain at higher levels or from longer exposure. This is some info I found on ozone generating devices which is what the ozonics is. To be honest with you I would not by one not only the price but no deer is worth ones heath. This product may or may not be a heath hazard but the facts are that o3 is a poisonis gas
-
If you have 3 to 4 hundred extra laying around to spend on a ozonics. I would by a new gun or bow with it. If you don't want to do that I'll give you my address and you can send the money to me. Don't wast your money!

I don't know how you can say shooting at a deer with buck shot is spaying and praying. I don't know if you ever have been on a deer drive or not. But its been used for decades up in the ADK and I don't think those guys are spaying and praying. Using buck shot may be safer then using a slug that may carry up to a mile or a 30-06 that could travel up to 4.5 miles. Buck shot only travels a few hundred yards.
-
I'm not saying we should make buck shot legal for deer but when used properly buck shot can be very affective on deer. Like anything else when not properly used its not going to work very good. You can't say that people who use buck shot don't use the range to sight in.
-
I know some people that live down south and they use it when running deer with dogs but the shots are for the most part 50yds or less it works good for them. you pattern like you would for turkeys. I wouldn't use it.

That's why tuition is so high at Cornell at 1200 a deer they have to pay for it some how. More money than common sense. Can you see on your tuition bill a charge for deer sterilizations.
