  1. Neither Walmart or the Town Clerk had the Reg Booklets .All they had was the colored handouts that showed the various hunting seasons .
  2. I wear one on my back and have one on my back pack . Not necessary but I choose to do it .
  3. I stopped at the Town Clerks office to get my ML , Archery , duplicate back tag and anterless tags . The system was slow but I got everything . Tags for 8H & 8F . I asked if anyone had been turned down and the clerk said I was the 2nd person to stop for licence or tags today .
  4. About 20 or so years ago , I had a permanent stand about 18 feet up in a tree that had a 3 limb crotch . I put a Camping mirror on one of the bib limbs so I could see the property across the ditch that the deer crossed . It saved me from making movement trying to see what was behind me and paid off . A big storm took out that tree stand . Glad I wasn't in it at the time !
  5. What happens when you try to order a shirt or whatever from the store ? Do you get a message or something ?
  6. I will try to contact Burmjohn again . He hasn't responded to my last request .
  7. This question comes up every year . Timing doesn't make a difference . The tags are doled out at Random .
  8. The regular season tag would only be a buck tag . Does he need to apply for an anterless tag ? The Regs Book states that 250 square inches of hunter orange must be worn .
  9. A friend of mine's grandson is 14 . Tommy passed the Hunter Safety Course last year . Neither his grandfather or Father hunts . I am considering taking him during the Youth Weekend this this season . I think it's usually around the Columbus Day weekend . I know I need to get a permission slip from his Dad . What does Tommy need besides a Big Game licence ? Does he need to apply for a anterless permit ? He would have to use my rifle as neither he , his dad or grandfather own a rifle . Much of the needed info is in the Regs Booklet as far as wearing blaze orange , and other things . Tommy and his dad have shot Trap and he has done well so I know he can handle shotgun recoil .
  10. The deer get use to them and don't pay attention . Checking the straps is very important . I carry an extra set of ratchet straps in my backpack during hunting season .
  11. I have a chair similar to this in my Quad-Pod Blind . It is comfortable and the legs are adjustable . It's actually a shower chair .
  12. Melons work good for woodchuck bait . They give off a sweet odor . I bought some melon woodchuck liquid bait at Gander Mt years ago and put it on lettuce . That worked until I loaned the bottle to a friend who lost it . Small bottle cost $9 and they quit carrying the stuff .
  13. If you do "catch and release " you are creating a problem for someone else . Some people release them in the country and they become a farmer's problem .
  14. I still have to make the trip to the clerk and get ML , Archery and doe tags .
  15. My wife is on my back most of the time so I consider that enough exercise ......
  16. I buy some of my odd ball Button Batteries on EBAY . It takes a while to get them shipped but there is a huge savings .
  17. Got my Back Tag , buck tag , turkey & bear tags in the mail today . Will have to go to Town Clerk and and get the rest of the tags when they are available .
  18. No , mosquitoes suck . Hornets sting !
  19. I think some of the things that kills bees is the stuff that Monsanto puts out .
  20. Years ago , my SIL's boyfriend lost his Buck knife . The next day I took my Metal Detector with me and found the knife in the gut pile . He was grateful as his Dad had given it to him .
