  1. Chris --- welcome to HuntingNY
  2. Skswayze --- Welcome to HuntingNY .......
  3. Don't know about the3 legality as I don't plan to hunt with one . Not Cheap ? They only run about $1600 .....................
  4. I have seen people holding a cell phone to their ear and waving the other hand . How in hell are they steering ? I have also seen people looking down toward the steering wheel for an extended period while driving and "assume" they are texting . A police car approaches and they act normal . As soon as it goes by , back to the phone . I have a Blue-Tooth that I sometimes use when I am working . I can still keep both hands on the steering wheel . And yes , there are many other things a driver can do that is unsafe and could cause an accident .
  5. When you get it shot out , you can still recycle the plastic bags ............
  6. Sorry , but I didn't expect this to go viral . My intention was pointing out the fact that people show no respect for the property of others . When a Dad can go with his kid on POSTED property and throw caution to the wind , what is he teaching the kid ? Gee Billy-Bob , isn't nature beautiful .... I enjoy it so much walking with you while you ride your bike on the deer trail . No , that yellow posted sign didn't mean anything . The property owner has probably walked on some posted property himself so it's okay for us to do so . I can hardly wait to take you on a Youth Hunt .
  7. The other day I was driving down 590 and a woman swerved in front of me . She was texting . It made me so nervous that i dropped my electric razor , spilled my coffee and got jelly donut all over my clothes !
  8. A fellow who is a close friend of one of my son's bought a PSE Tac 15 and the Crossbow was at my son's house . I was asked if I wanted to shoot it and was a bit hesitant but shot it . It has a hand crank and it looked like the limbs would snap when it was drawn back . I flinched on two shots but put the other 4 in a softball sized group at 50 yards with 2 of the bolts touching . Didn't take much to shoot a group at that distance . Looks like it would eliminate a lot of practice .
  9. Getting a lot of Double Posts from ants ............. don't know why
  10. A picture is worth a Thousand Words
  11. The Landowner doesn't want them there and isn't going to push the issue but would like to find out who they are . He is not going to call the DEC . Not to speak for Doc and NYSlowhand but ....... we were brought up in an era where you obey the law . And yes Doewhacker , I have exceeded the speed limit at times so don't go there . Nowdays , it seems the attitude is ..... if you don't get caught or hollared at , it's okay .
  12. I don't doubt the ones who think it's okay to go anywhere they want or for Daddy and little Billy-Bob to do so are the same ones that wouldn't think twice about Trespassing on someone's property ! Teach kids to respect others and their property . Doewhacker --- What part of it being a kid and an adult didn't you understand ? Apparently the Dad has no respect for property rights .
  13. Page 3 Today's Rochester D&C Guns blamed for sparking wildfires in parched West By Nicholas K. Geranios Associated Press SPOKANE, Wash. — In the tinder-dry West, where campfires, fireworks and even lit cigarettes are banned across public lands, another fire-starting culprit remains free of most restrictions: guns. This year, officials believe target shooting or other firearms use sparked at least 21 wildfires in Utah and nearly a dozen in Idaho. Shooting is also believed to have caused fires in Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. Officials have been asking the public to scale back shooting as legions of firefighters contend with one of the busiest and most destructive wildfire seasons to hit the West. In Utah, Republican Gov. Gary Herbert took the unusual step of authorizing the top state forest official to impose gun restrictions on public lands after a gunfiresparked fire. Herbert said his decision doesn’t limit gun rights, but is a commonsense response to dry conditions. Guns rights advocates, meanwhile, were skeptical that firearm use can cause so many wildfires. Clark Aposhian, chairman of the Utah Sports Shooting Council, said that perhaps 5 percent of the wildfires in the state have been caused by target shooters this year. “I don’t know how much of a problem it really is,” he said. Officials believe steeljacketed bullets are the most likely culprits, given one shot that hits a rock and throws off sparks can ignite surrounding vegetation and quickly spread. Popular exploding targets also are blamed for causing wildfires. For weeks, state officials have said they were powerless to ban gun use because of Second Amendment rights, but legislative leaders say they found an obscure state law that empowers the state forester to act in an emergency. Among the recent fires, target shooters on June 21 ignited a blaze about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City that grew to about nine square miles and forced the evacuation of about 2,300 before it was contained. Statistics on wildfires caused by firearms are incomplete because the federal government does not list “shooting” as a cause on its fire reports. But some officials write in “target” or “shoot” as a cause, said Jennifer Jones of the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho. On land managed by the U.S. Forest Service only, the center found 17 such wildfires in 2010, 28 last year and 13 so far this year. This year, the Bureau of Land Management said 11 of 31 wildfires it has battled in Idaho have been sparked by shooting activities.
  14. Good idea Dave but you would be surprised how many bags like this (usually smaller) get tossed out during Garbage Pick Up . I have not tried the luggage for a target but I see a lot of the suitcases by the garbage cans when I am installing / removing Real Estate signs .
  15. To me and many others ( I don't have statistics but I believe it's 97.3 percent ) understand that POSTED means " stay the hell out " unless you have permission to be here ....................
  16. Lawdawz -------- Posted up tight on the land? ans) yes , it is posted with signs all along the property boundary No other way into the land that is not posted? ans) Not unless they swim the swamp . I don't see and mud , etc on the bike tires Family members? ans) No .....no idea who they are Neighbors kids? ans) emailed pics to my friend . He doesn't know them as neighbors Why do you have a camera on such an established trail, looking for trespassers? Ans) because the deer are lazy like us and travel the easy route . I have posted pics of deer on this trail . It was made for the owner's ATV and he mows it when it is dry . He leaf blows one of the trails for duck season so he can get to the swamp quietly . Do you live in a high crime area? ans) No idea of the crime rate in Walworth and I subscribe to the Wayne Times Had a lot of trouble with kids damaging property or stealing? ans) Not on this property .......
  17. I can zoom in with my camera ( Canon Powershot SX130 ) on the SD card and get a clear picture of the "man" walking behind the kid on the bike . For those of you with poor eyesight , it's a kid on a bike and a "MAN" walking farther back on the trail . So what is this MAN teaching his kid ? It's okay if Daddy does it ? Last fall , I had a pic of some Bimbo on horseback on the trail . What don't people get about POSTED ?
  18. Dave --- Different properties , different counties . I guess I am different from some folks . If I don't have permission to be on a property , I don't go on it .
  19. What is that guy teaching his son ? It's ok to violate the law ?
  20. Wooly --- they have no business being on POSTED property ! They may be harmless but they are Trespassing none the less ...........
  21. The biggest problem I see with some of these CEO's is ......... a company goes down the tubes and the CEO get a huge ass buyout ! Many people lose their jobs but the top dog gets rewarded big-time !
  22. Got a pic of a kid and his dad ( I assume it's his father ) on the camera . Don't know why they were on my friend's property .
  23. Two extra weeks to be out enjoying nature . Yipeeeeeee !
  24. Every time someone flushes , the water level in the well rises ...........
