  1. They've reported moose sightings near my camp at Raquette Lake.. Not many of them up there now, but i wouldnt be suprised to see a season for them in my lifetime.. ( im 29 so i have some time)
  2. yea top of the hill.. i still have stands in the woods down there, and another 10-20 trees for my climber
  3. http://www.bowsite.com/bowsite/features/articles/deer/breakingwind/ A good refresher, or great advice for a new hunter.. t-12 days
  4. Hell yes.. broadheads are tuned, trees are picked, lanes are cut.. im taking off oct 1st from work to hit a public land spot in the morning, and going to hit a small private property near home at night.. hope to at least put a fat doe in the freezer.. until then, im going to distract myself with salmon fishing(or at least try to)
  5. i missed 4 deer clean with my bow last yr... ive been shooting 5-6 arrows everyday since April.. a wounded deer is unacceptable.
  6. hunt the pinch points in the area during the rut and pre rut... probably your best chance to catch him cruising
  7. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/09/12/Obama-Expands-Civil-Forfeiture-So-ATF-Can-Seize-Your-Guns
  8. i can too, i just dont shoot things i dont eat.
  9. Why would i learn how to id an animal i dont hunt? thats why i have you guys...
  10. ive seen a few bobcats in the adk's.. never even considered shooting them, just cool to watch them
  11. im guessing from the pic, that whatever it is weighs at least 50-60 pounds
  12. arent bobcats generally spotted? with a short fluffy tail? and weighing 15-30 pounds?
  13. He'[s gotta be 55-60 pounds at least.. never even heard of a bobcat that big
  14. ive also been staying out of my hunting areas this close to the season, b\ut all the bucks ive seen with the binos have had hard horns for a few weeks
  15. Anyone ever seen one of these in NY? im not positive, but i think thats a moutain lion
  16. i like the spot between the 2 T's.. perfect rut stand, provided the wind cooperates
  17. i have a 7j that i will trade for a 7m
  18. The more i think about this, i may not touch anything.. had a few guys on AT trying to get me to move the rest, but the likely hood of even a 40 yd shot for me is low, most are 15-25 like everyone else. worst case if i have a perfect shot at 40, i can always hold a hair to the right.
  19. field points are in a standard archery bullseye for every pin.. the broadheads were 2-3 inches left of field points at 40
  20. realistically 0.lol, and i know this whole post is a little nit picky. i wont shoot at a deer farther than 40. my pins are .19, and im sure some of it is me, but each group at 40 was similarly a few inches left. which is why though im not overly concerned with the grouping, if i could put the bow up or down a pound to get that in line id be fine with it.. i really dont plan on moving the rest, though i love my ripcord, their so finicky id rather have a 40yd shot a lil left than have clearance issues at every distance
