  1. Fins to Feathers in Farmingdale...... AMAZING Richie is also a sponsor of the site and a good guy!
  2. Welcome ! Where do you live? Lots of good places to do all kinds of hunting out there. Waterfowl, deer, small game. Look @ DEC website for info on public land in Suffolk. When I go there I feel like I'm upstate, without the 3 hour drive, tons of tolls, traffic and $100 r/t in gas.
  3. Any cameras near the office or surrounding area ? This is unbelievable, why did it take this long for them to get out and hardly do anything? What do they mean by monitor the area, these A-HOLE'S that did this wont be back !
  4. nice to see a young guy working and thinking about spending his $ wisely. Congrats to your parents for raising a good kid ! Maybe if you have an archery shop nearby you could explain your situation and they could swing you a deal. With the way you think, I am sure you could come up with something. Good luck.
  5. walk in dark and get to spot in dark,so im sitting when sun comes up. Then the late comers push the deer right to me.
  6. P.14 of the syllabus states Back Tags must be visibly displayed on the middle of your back while hunting, except in the Northern Zone and Catskill Park.
  7. Nice gesture, thats a costly set of stuff, wish I would have seen the orig post. Those 3 items are prob close to $200 and at the rate my son grows out of his hunting clothes, well worth it. Thank god my daughter is into hunting also, so I can recycle my sons stuff for a while.
  8. Anyone have these or know of anyone who does? I'm looking for some feedback before I think about buying.... http://www.thermacell.com/heated-insoles-foot-warmers
  9. Welcome, and good luck.

  11. Guess you have yourself a new treestand.
  12. could someone give me the link or info on how to obtain the permit for the suffolk special firearms season 1/7/13-1/31/13.? Thanks I already have the land access permit as I have bow hunted there. Thanks in advance
  13. WOW, beautiful deer, where in Ulster ? I hunt there too,(big indian, oliveria, phoenicia, pine hill) and you can find these monsters way back as you eluded to your 2 mile hike.... if you want to work for them they are there and on state land, I have seen many a deer like that taken off state land in that area.
  14. Welcome, enjoy the site. Congrats on your success so far !
  15. I'd love to see more of this, anyone have any info from other counties?
  16. I applaud you for that, and assure you that this will continue until someone who obeys the DEC laws reports it. They would love to hand out some fines and license suspensions to the offenders. I remember a phrase a good old friend once told me regarding situations you describe, "always act as if your mother is watching you", and if she wouldn't approve you probably shouldn't do it!
  17. Yea, me too. Have to wait for kids to get home from school though bringing my son. Good luck and most important BE SAFE !
  18. Keep up the good work, congrats. One less dog out there killing turkey & deer
  19. I still get the online ones ( if you call customer service they'll send again), and like RHM_ny, I took advantage of the $10 due to this past weekend's computer glitch, combined w/ a $50 gift card I had, and got a new nikon range finder for $119 + shipping !
  20. With this type of rescue I would have to say some sort of come along or pully system using FD ladders with the victim secured in a stokes basket, then lowered to the ground would be my guess If anyone on here is from the BCS FD or a neighboring FD with knowledge of the incident that could share the particulars of the rescue would be appreciated.
