  1. Looks like a bunch of sausage and burger! Hope you get him.
  2. In my hunting club we call does mullies. Bucks from the swamp are swamp walkers. I personally name all the bucks I get on my trail camera. From little spikes to big bucks, they all have names!
  3. Nice deer guys! I am hoping to post a picture on here this weekend.
  4. Beautiful night. So far nothing moving but the squirrels. Thinking I may shoot one if they annoy me enough...
  5. Had two fawns come in at daylight and play around my stand for 40 minutes. Presented me every possible shot you could think of! Just wish their mom or dad would have showed up. Didn't see anything after that. Headed out in a few for the later afternoon/evening hunt. Weather is nice here in Cayuga county. A little breeze, cloudy, cool, and no rain or snow. Good luck y'all!
  6. That is a super deer! Hope one of you get a crack at him!
  7. I would recommend switching to the carbon express maxima hunter. They have dual spine weight forward technology, the rear of the spine is stiffer, and a heavier front arrow section. I shoot 72 lbs and 30" draw with the rage 2 blade and get awesome groups at 40 yards. Just a suggestion...
  8. The 8 is similar frame to one I shot a few years ago, he scored 126 3/8. Don't think I would put him any higher than that. The 9, a bit more mass but with the deduction I say he nets close to the 8. Prob low 130's at best. Either way both are nice mature deer. Hope you get one!
  9. Definitely no older than 2 1/2 prob 90-100".
  10. That's a pretty awesome video. Good luck.
  11. I shot this buck in 2007, I call him crazy horns for obvious reasons. Had him mounted by Buckos in Parish. I shot him through the neck, you can barely tell from the picture. The smaller buck in the background is the first 8 point I shot. Also mounted by Buckos.
  12. Too bad about the deer. Cool to stumble upon in the woods though.
  13. You can always call deer search. I used it 2 years ago when I shot a buck just before dark a little further back than I wanted. I gave him an hour after watching him go in thick woods before starting to track. Jumped him once and left the area. Called deer search the next morning and the dog found it within 20 minutes. It is a free service (accept donations only) and really useful. Just a thought...
  14. I would say he is 18-19". I have a buck on the wall that is 17 1/2" and that one looks just a little wider.
  15. Hope your stand isn't too far away! Looks like you have one super nice buck there.
  16. I say if you have the tags, shoot both! I have shot Does with fawns and eventually the fawns herd back up with the rest of them.
  17. Beautiful night for hunting! A little warm but there is a gentle breeze and the sky is clear. Squirrels are going "nuts", jays are squaking, and hopefully the deer will be moving!
  18. Nice pics! Looks like you should have a couple bucks to choose from next year.
  19. Definitely come up with a price range that is good for you. You can get a lot of nice bows fully equipped for under $500. I went and shot a bunch of different bows and ended up picking a Diamond Black Ice FLX last year. I shot Hoyt the previous 12 years and loved every bow I had, but the Diamond seemed to draw a lot smoother to me. Like WNY said, the best thing to do is get out and shoot a lot of different bows.
