Killed while walking her dogs at 5:30, that's dark
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Curmudgeon's topic in General Hunting
I would still think the manslaughter would be appropriate. Once you depress that trigger you own that bullet. SO he could have been legal being in the woods at that time but the action of shooting her wasn't -

Agreed, but as long as you are in a legal open season for something I don't believe they could do anything. -

I know it's been discussed many times before but why? Why would being in the tree after legal shooting hours be any different than climbing in before legal shooting hours? -
Sad ending to an old buck

When I was doing a lot of highway construction, you would be amazed how many deer get hung up in a simple 4' right of way fence along the highway. All of them that I saw were trying to jump the fence, hung up a foot and with the body weight making it over with a foot through the fence. No way for them to get it out. I've never seen one still alive but what a terrible way to go. -
Moog's hunting clothes are grrranimals so he just has to match the cute animal tags on each piece so he matches. You get that stuff for free when you spend that much on sissy carpet for you truck bed...lol

Where are you located? There may be some members close that can mentor you

Let's phrase it this way just because DEC puts them on different maps. . You can use bow during bow seasons. Bow seasons currently overlap with muzzleloader seasons and a bow is a legal implement during regular season.

Why does it have to be a matter of can't? I know a lot of very good hunters that CHOOSE to do it from time to time becasue it can not only be effective but fun.

as opposed to plopping your butt in a stand and sitting?

Chris, Try extra sharp cheddar cheese int eh recipes. We found that the regular cheddar tends to melt up and kind of disappear into the meat. The extra sharp cheddar has a higher melting point and stays intact through the cooking. And it is much much cheaper than buying the high temp cheese.

Nope. You missed the point. Every section of state land down NOT get hammered with the kind of pressure you guys are talking about. Find the areas that aren’t and concentrate your efforts there. Yes we have high hunter density but so many claim here what a lazy lot gun Hunters and the easy access areas can be tough. Do some homework.

Some of the best late season hunting I have had is on parcels that are hunted low impact surrounded by land that gets hunted hard all season. One reason why I love that late Muzzleloader week. And it doesn't have to be a big tract of land. Last year on the last Sunday of ML there was me an another on a 30 acre patch. The deer were on their feet during the day (except the 5 we took, well they were on their feet but not for long. )

Big game packrifle do they make them anymore ?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Hunter007's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I just happen to see it for the first time the other day. I liked to looks but the moving optics didn't do anything of me as well. -
I am for almost everything you list. I push it and hope it does sink in. Not going to mandate though. I also understand the pressure concerns. I do however disagree with the anticipated increase. Let’s look at you billy bob redneck who doesn’t currently bow hunt that everyone is concerned about ruining the woods. All I his talk of 100 yard shots in a hunting situation is bull. We all know target shooting I gotta and hunting is much different. I can pie plate every time with my compound and the range but no way am I taking that hunting shot. If billy bob does he will be disappointed and either won’t take he shot anymore or he’ll give up. He also will be disappointed in how the deer everyone talks about during bow season still seem to allude him. He won’t hang In There. I know 6 people that got crossbows was his year. Me being one of them just because a good deal came up in there his site. All 6 are bow hunters. I dont know any gun only hunters or hat have taken up the crossbow. I am certain there are. I just don’t see the long term pressure increase above what is already there

I have hunted lots of Public land in the years I have hunted. I see the instances that get reported as well. I still stick to the fact that it isn't all that bad out there. heck you listen to some of you guys you would think people are gettign mowed down in every public parcel and no one should ever hunt them. Statistically I don't believe it can be supported.
