  1. Think he'll make 140?...nice. I have a hard time with them on the hoof... Here are a few of another one that wandered through. I think this makes all 3 of the smaller ones I was watching. They look almost Identical to me. I would think they were the same deer if I hadn't seen them in the feild at the same time. The 2 big 10's are giving me the slip.
  2. Keep your fingers crossed...they open more every year
  3. I love to bow hunt....but not nearly the attraction I have to gun hunting. It was my First love and if I had to choose...I'd give up bowhunting
  4. Solon......OMFG....have you even been reading?....start back twenty some pages and if you can't pick it up by then...PM me...I'll get the crayons out and go nice and s.........l...........o.........w............ for you.
  5. Chevy....deer drives?...come on...ever try to hit a runing target with a bow?. I have shot at a course that had a sliding deer target on a cable....compounds are comparable speed to a xbow....it aint hppening. On you Ohio stats...same thing you said before. So I ask again. Give evidence the big "influx" is fun hunters...do you have numbers from before the law...no ..and as Doc pointed out...it was nearly 30 years ago. PA is more recent addition...can anyone find bow hunter license sales before crossbow...I can and would love to see them.
  6. I know a couple too. They have never done it and it is new....my feeling is if anyone wants to try it...wait a few years ...I think there will be a TON of barely used bows on the market at about half the cost of new. I don't see the draw except for those who can't anymore.
  7. Crap WNY...I missed that. I didn'[t look closely enough I guess. It is a different buck. damn near identical route though. I wish the flash was stronger though...lots of eyes in the background I would love to see...they get puled next Monday so I will post some more. My buddy works nights so he runs in mid day for me to limit any bumping. Cabin---I am hoping there will eb a late season draw since he isn't plowing them in. I don't hunt gun there but do get in there with the ML. the one year he left them the feilds were loaded during ML season....of cours that was about 2 years b4 I got mine and was the straw that broke the camles back and force me into it...lol
  8. Please give me a reason I can believe that a bowhunter would convert to crossbow if it were legal? .Sounds like he did...the guy with the bad shoulder. My father had a muscle removed from his shoulder and he can no longer draw a bow. I know he would buy one. and have you ever tried to hold a flashlight with one hand and shoot with the other with a compound...it's damn near impossible...I am thinking it would be much easier with a crossbow...LOL...just thought I would beat you to it Chevy
  9. PM me a list with you discounted pricing...I may be interested...lol. I don't see the impact either. I have shot one before at target and didn't seem to be all it cracked up to be. it was louder than crazy. I won't be buying one either Steve...NOW shoot me that list
  10. There are 3 a LOT bigger than him....who knows.....it will keep me from drawing back on a little one though knowing they are out there. Of course the 2 mutant racks will be square dancing under my stand all year
  11. Can't take credit Geno...the farmer has 80 acrcres of soy inthere right now...harvesting the 3rd week in October but not plowing in til spring.....it all ought to go to hell about the first week in October...lol. I hope I at leaast get the 3 big ones that I am seeing on film
  12. WOW Solon---you cut fast-----just "a beer"...lol
  13. Try this one http://www.kodakgallery.com/gallery/sharing/shareRedirectSwitchBoard.jsp?token=991455085506%3A1288779172&sourceId=533754321803&cm_mmc=eMail-_-Share-_-Photos-_-Sharee
  14. don't know....I tried it when I posted it now it won't work....grrrrrrrr
  15. We cut our own as well.....as long as the weather isn't too warm and we arent pinched for time. Probably do 3 a year. Sharp knives are key!!! Get a good sharpening steel or even a good draw sharpener. ....grinder.....vacuum sealer.....and I don't use a meat saw. I put a new 12" demilition blade on my 18 volt rechargable sawzall and it is the best bone cutter going. I debone everything. mostly steaks, stew, ground and a few roasts. I do debone the neck to brisket meat in one lump...trim it and keep it whole for a nice slow cook into "pulled pork" for our summer parties.......shhhhhhhh the wife doesn't know it is venison every year...lol. set up it key...keep it clean and bubba hit it on the head....propane torch to take care of any stray hairs befor cutting. I use a fan tip on mune...covers more area nd not all that hot.
  16. Nice Buck Cabin....get him on the ground so we get a big smiling pic of you and him. I think he'll gross over 150 all day long
  17. Hope you guys can view these here. He is more computer challenged than I am and could onl;y get it through to me on the Kodak share site. One NICE one there but still 3 that are bigger out there http://www.kodakgallery.com/gallery/creativeapps/slideShow/Main.jsp?sourceId=533754321803&cm_mmc=eMail-_-Share-_-Photos-_-Sharee
  18. I have yet to get to the camera that I hope is holding pics of the big bouy bought thought I would shase a few off my old poor quality camera...lol... What do you guys think is wrong with the ones coat? All blotchy and stuff
  19. I couldn't agree more. the media hype of it has really turned it into a competitive sport...who gets the biggest the fastest....to some extent )and I know this is gonna take some flack) I blame the clubs too like pope and young and B&C. When I take to the field I am only competing against me. I measure my success by the memories I log...the great times I have with family and friends. I really get more excited when I bring someone with me and they are successful.
  20. Bad analogy...no minimum bill size in duck hunting...and there are many catch nd release areas....so maybe tranquilizers and a quick picture would better satisify the trophy hunters....like some African rhino hunts....come on?
  21. And while they my not be doing it in public...you can bet they are working behind the scenes...and why not...sad as it is...that is how our system works
