I am very interested in getting access to ddp’s for some Field to Fork hunts. They are usually doe only and fits the theme of the program perfectly. Management while securing s wholesome food source

The only thing I have seen with those style that are full support on the hitch is that you need a suspension lock on the wheeler. As the load increases the wheeler squats and digs deeper forcing the wheeler to squat more and the cycle continues. I had to add the suspension lock bar on the Bombardier Traxter that I use the pull the grader blade I made and the york rake as well. when I didn't have it on they would go through that cycle until the tires eventually spun.

Thanks. I also have info form S3DA coming. At the meeting I am sure we will be discussing class sizes and evaluating the needs. The programs would not be mixed so sets of varying sizes and poundage would work in each "group" (adult/high school, middle school, elementary). I'd love to be able to fund a program each year but trying to find equipment that is useful but not break the bank.

I know some on here have followed what the branch is doing with the Field to Fork Program. As you can imagine this program focuses on firearms and crossbows since the learning curve and success rates would be higher than normal archery. Another initiative we are trying to start is new archery sponsorship in some local schools and community rec programs. I have meetings set up with both and the range of the programs could be from Elementary, middle school, high school and adult programs. I am looking for any info I can get on the best traditional bows that may be used by the largest range of participants so we get the most flexibility for the money spent. This would be traditional equipment and I am wrestling with the frame size, strength and left and right hand differences. I was thinking a bow like the Bear Flash, since it can be utilized by either right or left handed. I would appreciate an recommendations you all have.

Just a few of the thoughts on the thread. Shady so they figured to screw you and keep it in the "family" Sounds like an inside job Seems very shifty Sounds shady AF A small claims court may at least get you some answers Sounds like they just didnt want you to have the gun like it was a fixed raffle I 'd seriously consider a letter to the local newspaper or a Facebook smear See how a fraud charge affects them they have a liar and a crook in their midst, I'd bet that the "seller's" prize and that gun were not even listed as an available prize on the ticket from what I have seen on other gun raffle tickets. And I have bought a ton of them. Never win anything but buy a ton.

Belo, After seeing this all play out here and the comments from those that feel this guy was so wronged, part of me wants to say "whiner" (but it is really some of the others that are whining) but they did screw up the handling of the whole situation. Being in a not for profit group I can certainly say we would never have handled it this way but mistakes do happen. We had one guy at the banquet buy one of 50 tickets on our gun board. We draw a number. kept calling the number for 15 minutes and finally I drew another number. Got that winner and awarded the gun. After the whole next round a guy comes up and says he has the winning ticket for the one we redrew. I found a way to make him feel like we weren't screwing him but he did not get a gun. They totally screwed it up. Personally I would LOVE to see the face of the raffle ticket that was sold. I'd be willing to bet the gun that was drawn was either not even listed as a prize or was clearly listed as a ticket seller's drawing.

A person that gets mugged is a victim. The people that went down with the towers were victims. THIS is not a "victim"

"Victim"? Oh for Christ sake.

I have way to many ghosts to bore you all with my whining but one day sure stands out and it wasn't a real hunt. I had been watching 4 really good bucks across from my house all bow season. One was HUGE. I hunted them but never had anytime that they were even close to bow range. On the last Tuesday of shotgun I looked out the front window after I had gotten home from work and I see a lone doe walking down the hedge row, parallel to our road and out about 400 yards. Since I had been playing cat and mouse with these bucks all year I hadn't put any meat in the freezer and decided I'd grab my gun and go get in front of her. I quickly dress lightly and grab a fist bull of sabots and my gun and head out. She beat me to the hedge row intersection where i was trying to head her off. Since I could see so much of the fields she could have only walked straight away from the road on the intersecting hedge row. SO I start really hoofing it. The field is big and up ahead of me it dipped into a slough with tall grass and brush. An area that never gets farmed becasue it is too wet. But the big trees of the hedge row do run through it. There was about 4" of snow. As soon and I broke over that knob I see brown flashes in the brush and there was a herd in there. They busted into the meadow at about 80-90 yards and the 3 big bucks were right in the mix of the 5 does. For some reason the 3 bucks split off and that gave me the room I needed. I started shooting with my scoped Mossburg 9200 1.....2....3....4...5 nothing and I could see each bullet hit the ground. If I loaded quickly I could get 1 maybe 2 more shots at them. I reached into my pocket and grabbed 2 shells. tipped the gun while I was watching them and dropped in a shell. I was about to hit the bolt release and I glanced down at the brush line that was 20 yards away from me and there was a buck standing broadside.....in the open....and I am empty. I honestly believe he must have been standing there watching me shoot at the other ones. This was the biggest buck I have ever seen in the woods during the season and it was easily over 170 with trash sticking out everywhere. What to do? it seemed like we stood there for an hour staring at each other. I flinched first and hit the bolt release to try to get on him before he bolted. he was faster than I was and he dove into the brush. I fully loaded as I saw his brown shadow headed through the brush. He came out on the very same path as the ones before...yup you guessed it. 1.......2.......3.....4......5....NOTHING.

The Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) provides antlerless deer harvest tags that the landowner or municipality can distribute to licensed hunters for use on specific parcels of land. The hunters can use the tags on those properties during deer hunting seasons in addition to the regular tags they receive with their licenses. Deer Damage Permits (DDP)allow taking of deer outside of hunting seasons under certain conditions, and may allow the use of specialized techniques to increase success. These permits are issued in situations where adequate population control and damage reduction cannot be achieved through hunting, even with DMAP.+ These are parcel specific so technically they can not be given to a neighbor to use on their land. They can be given to someone to use on the listed parcel though.a single hunter can only use 2 DMAP's for a given parcel.
