If he gives you the wrong range and you miss that is just more yotes around for him to shoot. Lol -
We probably have 10-20% working for our company that can barely communicate in English and they are here legally. When in common conversation with others that can speak Spanish they speak Spanish. ANd this is on the East coast. You aren't going to find a person that is more anti illegal immigration than I am but I understand what Belo was saying. It is presumptive (and stereotypical, now called racist) to assume they are illegals just becasue of their appearance or speech. Hell way back when I was young I knew families of friends of mine, the grandparents spoke their language in their homes and the parents could converse with them. They spoke their native tongue when speaking with friends on the street. The kids my age, I am sure understood the swear words but that was about it.

My concern was using the slider in a hunting situation with 3 pins on it. Seems like to much of a chance to grab the wrong pin to me. We all know what can happen when Mr. Big shows up. If it is just bing used as a fixed sight for hunting, I get that. -

But isn't the ideal feature of a slider is to be able to set it at the perfect actual range? Great machining work but sure sounds like a solution for a problem that doesn't exist to me. Too many possibilities to have something slip your mind in the heat of the moment. Probably will work fine for 3D. What I would love to see someone come up with is a better index finger operated adjusting system that can be adjusted while at draw. I took mine off becasue the Touchmaster was just too big and cumbersome. http://www.sight-master.com/p44.html -
Looking back when I first started bow hunting the arrows I used were different that anything that was used in a crossbow of that time. The Bear Whitetail 2 that I shot didn't generate nearly the pressure on the arrow that the crossbow did on a bolt. I think the same could be true way back in history. With the modern advances in vertical bow technology the construction is about identical now except for length. A buddy had a crossbow in early 90's and we were shooting the same arrows as each other out of our vertical bows. His crossbow was just for plinking and one day the dope loaded in one of his 2413 arrows he shot out of his Vertical. Those 2413's were pretty stiff then and were like Lincoln Logs. He is lucky he came away with no injuries becasue that arrow blew apart on the trigger squeeze. The Full Metal Jacket arrows I shoot out of my compound is identical construction to the Full Metal Jacket "bolts" they sell based on description and construction sizes, just shorter. That might account for some of the terminology switching.

So if they were fully included in bow season, what would change for you? You'd still have the same implements and the same choice the day you walked out the door. No?

This is for Northern Fingerlakes Branch. They have some beans that have not been purchased yet if anyone is interested. GOT BEANS? Northern Fingerlakes branch has about 70 bags available of Soybeans through the QDMA Seed Program. The bags are approximately 50 pounds, they are a group 1 bean, and are round up resistant. They are last years seed, but germinate over 85% on germination test. You can plant soybeans through June and provide great plots for summer or hunting season. The Beans are in the Lyons, NY area If interested please reach out to Ben Williams at 315-879-7802 Price is $10 a bag, must be a QDMA member, you may join when picking up your beans for $35. This is a significant savings and are a great member benefit of QDMA. Please note Ben works during the day and may not be able to field daytime calls but will get back to you.

I'm with ya. I assume the ticket seller "winner" was a member of the club. He should have said to give the OP the gun. Just for the damage control you mentioned. They are a not for profit and I am sure the raffle is probably a lions share of their capital. There were so many times this was handled incorrectly and so many times it could have been made right. This bad press will haunt them. Edit.... The right way to handle this in my book would have been to handle it so the OP never even knew there was an issue.
-
Yeah, On the bright side once Cuomo signs the bill that makes it illegal to use firearms in games of chance, no one will have to worry about a crooked raffle.

I've seen clubs do it before. It generates sales. Each ticket you sell you put your name on the back. They draw the prizes and then they draw the seller's gun out of the same tickets and read the name off the back. It sounded to me that they read the wrong side for that gun but the OP is saying he didn't buy the ticket form the guy who ended up with the gun. Personally I'd check in with the guy you bought the ticket from and see if he was selling them for a buddy. I can see the mistake happening but how they handled it was not right.
