So I have about a 1/4 tank of gas. I take the train in to work so I wasn't so concerned about gas. I'm getting my hair cut and the owner comes in and says just filled up and no line. He uses E85, bingo the light goes off in my head. My Tahoe takes that so off I went and filled up with no line at all. I was lucky!! For once it pays to have the flex fuel truck!

Very nice!

Good Luck out there!

I'm seeing and hearing that the stations, even if they have gas, will only open when there is a policeman around. This was happening at Hess in Commack.

Ill send the coffee truck over!!!

God speed Damore! Let us know what we can do. FYI I took home the LIRR from the city last night. Ran on time and was not crowded. That could change nex tweek. -
Enjoying your posts. I had to bail out of a 3 day weekend hunt because of the storm, this helps!! I will one day re-string my Browning Nomad Stalker and take to the woods, one day.

Nice deer, nice bumper! Rack will be nice, any meat out of it?

A big buck was taken on State land in Schuyler County that green scored 182. More tk as I get it.

So much for the three day weekend rut hunt this weekend. Kids and ex still don't have power so they will be at my house. Something little to give up considering what some are going through. Steve and Doe, have at it this weekend. Just leave one standing for me at gun season.

Here on LI 90% of homes without power. Many homes on North and South shore gone. I personally saw its fury last night in Huntington Bay, even before the worst of the storm hit homes were lost. The storm surge was incredible. I pray everyone is OK.

Not many Islanders reporting. 90% are without power. Many friends along both shores lost homes and boats. This was real bad, I lost power for 6 hours, I was a lucky one. Had many family and friends bringing over perishables and taking showers here today. It may be a while till we are back to normal. This weekends rut hunt may have to be put to bed. Be safe everyone!

Welcome, I have the same bow as you, I like it. Also from LI but camp is up in the Finger lakes. -
North Shore of LI East Northport, not much rain but high winds. Amazing I only lost internet for 20 minutes. Storm is going to pick up steam in the next few hours, worst yet to come. Good luck everyone.

Rails shut down, City shut down and I am working from home the next two days. It is going to get bad tonight, please be safe out there.

Thanks Grow! My brother just called and was talking about this with me. We will hunt this Sat morning and will be real careful in the woods.

Years ago I would run across guys in stand downing a beer. I stayed clear of them. Drinking is fine at my camp, I like my beer, most of us just have a couple and off to bed by 10. It's a different story wen your in your 20's now that we are all nearing middle age sleep is more important!

That sounds exciting. You almost closed the deal. He is a brute maybe the rut will bring him a bit closer. -
Last weekend at the camp I had to leave in the middle of the day on Sunday. On my way back I drove past my property and past my neighbors camp. I look and say oh he put out a deer target. I turn around the truck and see it is a doe munching on the grass behind his trailer. I pull up and the doe is 15 yards from me. I take a few pictures call my brother and tell him what's going on. I bleat at the doe and she comes closer to the truck, now about 10 yards. I am amazed at how calm she was. I talk a bit more to my brother and it seems she has had enough and runs off with her tail between her legs. A close encounter for sure!

OMG! My kids love playing with all my gadgets, especially the game calls. Thanks for posting the pictures, for all of us with kids this goes hand and hand with what we love! -
Way to go, awesome buck.

I'm worried about the flooding. This storm is going to sit on the NE for a while and it is so vast so many areas will be affected. WNY is right in its path.
-
Hunting all day 3rd, 4th and 5th. Throwing this storm in there will be interesting. Notice the full moon. Right when the storm is to hit, the tides will be nuts. Huntington and Centerport will be a flood zone for sure.

Do yourself a favor and check for clogs in your gutters and down spouts. #1 cause for basement flooding. Don't want to be doing that during the storm.
