    Wow, that is alarming. That thinking is so flawed. 1. Identify your target 2. If it's a deer decide if you will take it or not 3. If it's a person w/o wearing any blaze orange, say to self- what is this guy an idiot!

    I don't think 3 days of a youth gun hunt will cause any problems. Those deer will go right back to their usual patterns soon after. It's pretty green that time of year, it will make it a tough hunt. Come to think of it maybe one problem, your pissed off neighbor that's mad because your kid nailed a nice 10 point thats been traveling both properties. Could you imagine the smile on that kids face, hooked for life!

    I feel it should be mandatory but like you say Ed know what your shooting at is the number 1 way to stop the accidents.

    The theory that hunters will shoot at anything without blaze orange on, if mandatory, is so flawed. Doc's right its a guess.

    Funny you say that, my brother was at the game the other day and met up with Rod Gilbert. They took pictures together and Rod was holding a stick, the name on it read NASH! My brother questioned him but he wouldn't give up anything.

    So true, if it isn't a law why say something like that. I do believe it should be law, my opinion on that. Truth is even if it was law the son was gutting a deer, how many of us take off layers before doing this chore??? Something else to remember next year. His father was in his 70's and seems wasn't in the best of health. I'm 48 and know when it's almost dark you eyes can play tricks on you. I would never take a shot 100 yards near dark. I feel sorry for all of them, this never should of happened.

    I like it but wouldn't pay more than 20 bucks. Cheapest I found was 26 bucks.

    Sad situation. A member of your own party. It just goes to show how careful we have to be. Twilight was the time legal hunting hours were over. That time of day when things get a little grey, you better know what your shooting at. We all know our limits and should stick to them.

    That is so cool! I don't know on the noise. Find a different car to drive you bird around on. That is very noisy I have heard ones that are very quiet, may want to check out the Barbie dream car. lol Good luck with it, I think you have a winner!

    Friend just sent this to me. How would you like to shoot this one? During the civil war they were used to bring down flocks of geese and ducks to feed the soldiers.     Walked the property for an hour on Sunday. Saw all kinds of tracks. Found a deer leg, probably from the six pt I found by the road weeks ago. Found 12 deer beds in one area from the night before. Didn't have my shotgun with me but wouldn't you know it, 3 grouse offer perfect shots for me. That's about it.

    Which branches do you start pruning first? I have some big apple trees and on some of the big limbs there are hundreds of small sprouts growing. Should I cut these off?

    Put a chop from a LI, Catskill and Western NY deer in front of me, don't season it, cook medium to well done. I'll tell you where it came from.
