  1. I remember fishing right after Gloriar, sound was all churned up and full of big rollers. we caught zip!
  2. It happens every year like clockwork. It can vary from year to year but it always shows up on my doorstep around late August! Slowly but surely the anticipation of that first crisp fall day is stirring in my sole. A slight change in the color of trees around me and the smell of the fall woods brings me back over and over again to a time of the year I long for. Deer hunting is a big part of that and thoughts of time spent in the stand and in the cabin with family and friends brings a feeling of ease to the hectic life I lead. I absolutely love this time of year, people say why?The world around you shutting down and getting cold? Au Contraire, it's just the beginning and heating up!
  3. Just got mine in the mail. Took 5 days in all, not bad. I think this is the way to go in the future, the computer doesn't give you a hassle at checkout!
  4. Welcome, East northport is where I live-Fingerlakes is home!
  5. Yea we going to get hit hard. First order of business is to put away all the outdoor stuff. Second make sure the gutters are cleaned out. Got batteries and flashlights? GLTA
  6. Breeding population, probably not, ML in N.Y yes sir. Hell I can't find my house cat in my house half the time, the DEC needs to trap one of these and put a collar on it with one of those little bells! lol
  7. Paulie, I'm on the 18th floor of 42. Located in Time Life building. I'm hearing all different experiences. Yea my Sister in law was evacuated from 42 floors, she is shot.
  8. Slight rolling in NYC for a few seconds, nothing major.
  9. You're still not listening Larry.. it's not about killing bigger deer. It's about balancing the age structure in bucks... the real problem is hunters like you can't get the big deer thing out of their head and look at it from a management standpoint. Joe, Please explain the balanced age structure thing. If it has been talked about elsewhere just point me in that direction. Thanks
  10. we hd three young otters in a pond behind my sisters house in Bedford westcheter county. They were really cool to watch but put a hurrah on the fish population
  11. I understand that but I have never been asked. Well for now on I will bring it just in case. I just bought it online. Took a whole 10 minutes and I got my DMP. Happy hunting!!!!
  12. Wow, your right it takes all types. The older guys in the store were watching what was going on and let the kid just handle it. Sure I'll go back there next week and bring my tax receipt. It's just down right annoying. I probably could go online ight now and get my license with the permit. I think I may do that. Back in a few minutes.
  13. I just drove 25 minutes to my local sport shop where I have been buying my license for years. I get a doe permit because I'm a land owner. This year I tell the guy I need a legacy license and a doe permit. He wants to see paper work for my property??? I told him I provided it the first year I bought the place and the info is in the computer. He tells me how do I know you didn't sell the place two months ago. Now I'm getting a bit angry with the whole situation. I tell him I've been buying my license here for years and I was never asked to produce paper work except for the first year I owned the place. He looks at me and says, "can't do it." So I say what do you need? A tax receipt will do. I look at him and say that only tells you that I paid my taxes, it doesn't tell you if I sold the place in the last two months. He says, still need it. I don't get it, I understand that sure they want to see proof that you own the place but how????? I'm tired-just wanted to buy my GD license today. I'll have to go back next week and try it all over again, maybe they will want my first born!
  14. You can check out the links on this site. Last head I had done was about 6 years ago cost 375 bucks. Brother had one done by Rich at fins to feathers, was in the 400 range that was three years ago. He did a real nice jib!
  15. Another show that is way over the top. I'm sitting with my 7 year old and she says I don't get it? Why are they wearing brown camo in the winter? It was total snow and they were buffalo hunting. Why not wear white she asked. I said "we should ask the great hunter Benny that question" too funny!
  16. Every year we as bowhunters wound millions of deer left to die in the woods. How pathetic, we better start practicing more boys and girls. This is so poorly reported I couldn't even take it seriously.
  17. Somabitch, I'll get you guys! I had that buck patterned, he vanished one day! I hope you didn't eat him? The deer had chronic wasting disease, hell it don't matter you guys are wasted all the time! lol
  18. You better stay away from my doe at bow season. I told them to be on the lookout for two hillbillies looken to wack some doe! lol
  19. You two are always good for a laugh! I will be up there that weekend just not Monday and Tuesday. Thanks to all for the confidence!
  20. Ouch! my 4 day weekend Nov 3rd just turned into a regular weekend. We are taking on a big project at work and that comes first. I will have to do my 4 day weekend the 2nd week of bow, Oct 18th and 19th. A bit early but not hunting is worse!
