Ive been out twice prio to the opening day I sighted my air rifle for 50 yards (which might have been my first problem) and I shot at the first squirrel and missed completly a few minutes later he came back out and i took another shot and I just dont know where my shots are hittnjg. the same story with the second time I went out.gotta resight in the air rifle maybe for a closer distance. its a .20 cal size pellets

I understand the point about New young hunters with guns while archers are out but the thing that I have seen already on this thread in a few posts are that the bow hunters are not willing to buy any light blaze orange to be safe. I purchased a $5.00 blaze orange vest from the walmart for gun season..... is $5.00 really gonna break your wallet?or even $10.00 at the most........if you dont agree with this youth hunt during archery season then fine thats a separate issue, but dont be stubborn about it and jeopardise your safety. the only person that would be hurt if something were to happen god forbid would be you because you wouldnt buy a $5 orange vest.. or even an orange cap or heavy orange beanie for no more then $3..

, I am looking for a gun safe. cheap prefered. My 6 month old boy will be crawling soon and I dont want him getting into anything hes not suppose to. I can buy a brand new stack on 8 gun safe at gander for $119. just to give you an idea what im looking for. doesnt have to be pretty just to serve a purpose. let me know what you got

well good arguments. i think it should be a choice. to be honest and Im not ashamed to admit. the only male Ive ever shot in my 8 years hunting was on year 1 with my bow. my 1st spike and first deer. since then I enjoy harvesting doe. and have passed up on quite a few small bucks and spikes. thats my choice and I am waiting for that one adult male that I will bust my nut when he comes my way, that wall mount deer. when I go with my firends we implement our own AR rule. shoot anything thing 4points or more. we live in a non AR zone. this spot we have has ALOT of deer, doe and bucks and considering the construction going around in the neighboring lots there were alot of smaller bucks last season and we are excited to see how big they have gotten. However if someone else found where our spot in located and started taking the smaller bucks, we would not start WW#3 over it. it is a personal choice. If i look back and think if i didnt shoot that spike, would I have gotten hooked on hunting the way I did???? thats questionable who knows

yea the sterling forest near monroe is by permit only. also there is state land owned by the palisades park commission that owns all the stateland along Orange Turnpike runs from monroe Ny to tuxedo I believe that land you need to get a parking permit to park off the shoulder. I dont like to go there thou as opening day there are dozens of hunters parked off the road

I do feel that if a firearm wasnt involved this would not have been such a huge deal. the firearm owners actions of leaving the pistol out in the open and doors unlocked are questionable and I feel he did not do enough to keep the honest people out. If someone wants something bad enough they will get it. however leaving your firearm in your car and loaded is not a crime either. Maybe if this happened in a different town or different state the firearm owner would have some explaining to do..... who knows. but something we all can agree on is that this incident is unfortunate and aids in giving all gun owners a bad rep.

after rewatching this clip your right no where did it say the person taking the firearm from the vehicle left the property however my opinion does not change the Firearm was taken from the vehicle. So that person still broke into someone elses vehicle which is a crime he/she entered without permission. That person entered the gun owners property(home lot) tresspassing with intention to do something...... otherwise they would have no reason to go on the Property(home lot). as for your other question on the shirt off the hanger and the u left it in the tool isle. is it still theft.??? my answer is no, because the article of clothing never left the store property and never went into any area designated with signs (No merchandise beyond this point) Example bathrooms if you took that shirt into the bathroom it is theft. You can even conceal the shirt inside your jacket or shopping bag, but it is still not a crime untill you pass all points of sale ( front doors, bathrooms) if you conceal the shirt then try to go into the fitting room with intention of stealing the shirt in the fitting rooms it is theft. Now a different scenaro lets not use a firearm in this one. if you left your vehicle in a mall parking lot and left your laptop computer in the car and someone took the computer then brought it to back your house. mind you this person is a complete stranger. they broke into your vehicle and took your property with out your permission. then for some reason had second thoughts about it and returned the computer.. doing the deed then having burglars remorse about it later is still not an excuse and is not ok. the crime was already commited..

theft!?!? if I when into your vehicle and took your wallet (if you left it there) that is theft.taking anything that belongs to another person is theft and is wrong. I can agree with reckless endangerment but just trespassing for the other? that person stole a firearm which is a Felony. I have work in loss prevention within retail stores for many years and I dont care and neither does NYS, if someone shoplifts and exits the store and I go and apprehend that person, it is still larceny even if that person gives the merchandise back... what the note maker should be charged with is trespass and robbery, posession of a stolen merchandise, and being in possession of a weapon without a permit. maybe i am misreading your post or misunderstanding in some way but I am comfused as to how it is ok for someone to take mr. stupids property (gun or not) without permission and not get in trouble,. this just says its ok if you steal just make sure it is for a good cause......(teach someone a lesson)

yikes....... I hope the police do find that person and charge him or her. Stealing is stealing whether you give the item back or not it is still theft no matter what way you look at it. that person entered someones elses vehicle and took something that did not belong to them. granted leaving the firearm in the car unlocked was stupid but 2 wrongs does not make a right.

i shoot an H&R slug hunter deluxe with a rifled barrel using Lightfield hybrid sabot slugs 465 grain. I personally feel like I want there to be accuracy I can rely on that is why I am comfortable shooting up to 130 yards give or take. most shots you will take on a deer will be 10 to 30 yards. not always thou. Most of my deer taken have been withing 30 yards. however if I need to go the distance I know my setup will perform everytime. its all personal preference. So you will most likely get others opinions rather then facts. kinda like comparing ford trucks to dodges for instance. I dont think you can go wrong with either setup. what ever makes you feel comfortable. just make sure you can shoot slugs with the choke tube(s) you have in your barrel. Goodluck and enjoy

I heard that also if you dont use it you lose it. however last year I didnt get my first choice and I never go any preference points. same as this year
