I'll be heading out this AM for the first time in over a week. Its so bright out I don't think anyone will need a flashlight to walk in. Temps are good, wind is perfect, hopefully they'll be up and moving this morning. Good luck !!

Some trail cameras won't work if you change the card on a camera. My Nikon puts a file on the card if I delete a picture and puts a couple no image available on the card. I've checked moultries, deleted pictures and the camera wouldn't even turn on. Called tech and learned what I just shared above. I change the cards now and still check the pictures, just don't delete anything. Sure does pass the time knowing a big buck has been around you're stand recently.

I had a double drop that looked similar, took a few weeks and got a pic of him walking away. Hopefully you find out, it'd be cool to see an antlered doe.

Great story! Those brow tines are cool looking. Congrats, man.

I saw one last year while in stand. Amazing feeling to see/watch.

http://www.warrencustomoutdoor.com/pl-spark-start.html#mag-spark Mag-spark is similar but uses a shotgun primer instead of a small rifle. Maybe that website can help you.

That was the running joke at work today. What day is it? What does the fox say?
-
Yeah, but happens if you get a shot in at 9?

Just had a 4 walk through, told him to go get his big brother. First adrenaline rush of the year.

Warm and foggy here but excited to be sitting on stand! Good luck everyone!!

Sounds like you're ready! Why do you have to file the illuminocks?

I quit dip this spring, after I found out my brother had cancer. I used to have a camel snus mellow pouch in all day, changing every 30-45 min. Hunting this year is going to be my biggest challenge, I didn't miss it at all until it started getting cooler. While, personally I have seen plenty of deer with it in my mouth, short of some big flavor/ scent tobacco I don't think you'll have a problem. I used to give my dad crap about smoking in the tree stand and he always joked that it was no different from the wood stove the deer walked by last night(He has shot plenty of deer). Side note, there is no bigger preacher than an ex- tobacco user, so do what makes you happiest. I'm more afraid the bubble gum I'll be chewing this year will scare them off. Good luck this year.

. Could use LoJack, already made just not cheap... -
If you plan on deer hunting Albany you better invest in a shotgun, no rifles in Albany county for big game.

You're probably better off making a map of where you hunt, your access trails and times you plan to go. If it's close proximity to your family's land use a 2 way radio with an ear piece to check in. That's what we did growing up and it worked fine. If it becomes an issue of tracking after the kill or dragging out then I'd suggest you continue to search within your circle first.

Fawn got hit over weekend down the road, this AM at 445 I heard them yipping and barking. Fawn was gone when I drove into work.

What are you looking for, someone to help scout or land to hunt?

Sitting on the deck drinking a cold one and who pulls up? The farmer with the tractor trailers, off with the last of the fields...

They just started chopping this week here. Some fields are still too green to be harvested. Usually the deer will continue feeding on the field for 1-2 weeks after along with the geese.

Yup it's a male, still ugly though
