Yup …Paul DiLima…Smells great by itself but add warm cabbage funk and its a different world….they can weaponize that smell…LOL!!!!
-
LOL!!! must be horrible !!!

The first buck I ever got with a bow (a little 3 point) came charging right into my film can with Tinks too…LOL!! I have killed a few more and have had a few come with it into it (all bow) since then.. I think you have a small window when using it. A lone horned up buck thats not on a hot doe or on a hot doe trail, will hit it.

I found a fresh scrape this morning (7F) and the ones I found a week ago are still being tended to. The deer I have seen don't seem to be hot yet. A couple small bucks just sniffing around & does acting pretty normal. The neighbor took a decent buck Friday evening. He said that the buck was just walking the edge of an old food plot, nibbling here and there. Im thinking things might pick up in the next few days.

Not saying that I condone it but my friends and I skipped school a time or two, to go hunting.,

Winter cabbage is still in the field, on the farm I hunt. Yesterdays hot weather must have got them percolating because the woods reeked of them this morning. I mean reeked! The wind off of the field was right in my face. Then ,at around 8:30, the local coffee processing plant started to roast the beans and I got a strong combination of old fart burnt toast smell. I think Im a little dizzy from it.

Action should pick up in the next week or so. Hang in there.

He-man has nothing to do with it. I have seen coyotes put a serious hurting on deer and turkey populations in two different areas. One spot the farmer had a guy trap them and after a couple years the game populations came back. In the other spot, the farmer didn't hunt and didn't give a $ht!. I won't even deer hunt there anymore. Last time I did the snow was covered in nothing but coyote tracks. When coyote populations explode, like they have been doing lately, I hate their deer/turkey eating guts. When coyote populations are under control, I just don't like them.

Tink's and code blue have worked for me. I think timing is the key. If a hot buck gets a whiff of it, and he is not already trailing a doe and there is not a real hot doe close, he will come in. The real thing will trump the store bought stuff every time.

Just bought a Remington 700 .270 quick question
ants replied to bigmommashouse's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
The latest recall effected rifles (700's) made from 2006 to 2014. All 700's that were in stores should have been sent back and repaired. Like Kujo48 said..look for a small punch mark on the bolt release, if you know that your rifle was made within the time period. -
Congrats….My favorite gun stand is in the middle if sap lines…I think bucks are attracted to the color blue..LOL !!!~

It is very good. Slice it thin, season with salt and pepper pan fry is butter & garlic. Like BKhunter said, don't over cook it. Cook for about 1 1/2 minutes on each side.
-
I start out looking for a good buck, but as the season goes on I get less selective. I have only been out a few times this year, and have passed on a small buck and some does. When the rut ends I will probably take any mature deer. Button bucks and small does still get a pass. But thats just me. I would never look down on a hunter for filling his/her tags the way they want.

If it really is in "new unfired" condition then 400 is not bad at all. The 7600 is a good rifle, but not for me. The for ends tend to be noisy.
-
I definitely like the way you think!!!!! LOL!!!!

Not good….that primer looks like it should have gone off, with a dent in it like that. Definitly stop using the thing and contact CVA or bring it to a gunsmith who works on muzzle loaders... Good luck...
-
Is it on the half cocked/safe position or are you gently letting the hammer down, all the way to the primer, and carrying the rifle like that??

I have always heard that bear meat is tough and tastes a$$ nasty. After watching that video, It sounds like even if you cook the meat properly you are eating microscopic cooked worms……I'll pass LOL!!!
-
Very nice..congrats!

Good quality scopes. You will happy with it.

Been there done that………….LOL!!! To the point where I just start day dreaming while they are talking to me……I know the feeling..LOL!!

Diamond Infinite Edge. (Pretty sure thats the model name) Adjustments from something like 16-30" and 20 to 65 lbs. I may be off a little on the numbers, but Im close. A kid can shoot this bow from grade school through divorce. I think they go for about 400 or less.

Yup…The wad is suppose to stay attached. I have recovered a few, over the years and they expanded well. Not huge mushrooming but very uniformed.
