  1. and you have a 20mile view to pass the time
  2. 25ft, on a metal telephone pole, has high tension wires, buried using a pole digger, that thing is going nowhere he shoots an 8-10pt every year out of the stand, and he is 71yrs old
  3. Chicken noodle soup in thermos, peanut butter snack crackers, trail mix, jerky, water
  4. all depends, if its a big doe and she presents a great shot. maybe i kinda like holding the tag as long as i can, its some additional motivation to keep heading out with having to find a (3 on one side or better)
  5. I sit in the early mornings and evenings and venture/still hunt afternoons best of both
  6. what do you do? unzip your ground blind and sneak up 20 yards? a tree stand gives you a much broader view, why limit yourself to a shorter range of view sitting on the ground?
  7. Nice work ADK, surprised ya buddy was willing to leave so soon.
  8. after opening day there are about 50% less bucks in the woods the next day
  9. i remember 20 years ago it would be single digits on opening day....
  10. we usually do well when it's warm maybe because we hunt a north facing property
  11. I personally think we should all inquire about booking a hunt with rich, keep him busy and all ya know just to see what he offers google his name all you find is warnings about his outfitting services...
  12. if i was an outfitter i would ask you to remove me from your list as an agent... judging by the last 3-4 posts you made you do not seem very business savvy .... or literate
  13. I have never seen as many scrapes as this year, walking the 50 acres i hunt i counted 7 scrapes on the side of the logging roads
  14. the first 2 are wearing the same shirt/jacket just different colors which leads me to believe they are too immature to have minds of there own 13-14yrs old
  15. True, BUT and here a big BUT law enforcement makes up BS to support their goals. your honor upon approaching the vehicle i saw the suspect reach towards his passenger seat which gave me cause to believe he had a weapon, ect... they do it all the time if they find nothing they let you go if they find something they make up the BS that gave them probable cause, most people don't have thousands of dollars to afford a defense, unless of course your rich and famous, oh yeah that's right those guys never goto jail
  16. any law officer that asks consent to see something in your care does not have the proper probable cause, if they did they wouldn't ask
  17. It is usually DEC coupled with local law enforcement, we went through one 2 years ago, DEC "how did you guys do?" us "no luck" Local police, here's a ticket for a cracked windshield.
  18. Throgs Neck? really never seen that usually they are on a semi-busy town road just outside of state land. like Rt 206 near roscoe, NY reason being bear spring mountain is right near there
  19. That's how I learned to butcher a deer, shot a doe 18 years ago during bow season and it was 70 degrees first and only time I saw black flies checking out my deer
  20. Danny

    Monster!!

how high is it from a pickup bed to the cover?
  21. i usually wait to skin it right before butchering, if i skin it the air dries all the meat on the outside and you then have even more trimming to do
  22. I would butcher it by this evening, you cannot cure meat in an uncontrolled temp environment but anything above 42 degrees bacteria begins
  23. So it's your neighbor but a different county, and a possible high fence can hunt? Ya neighbor seeing any mountain lions too?
