  1. yes people like him know just enough to make them dangerous
  2. yeah thats a weird way for it to bend? almost opposite of how you would think it would bend
  3. Scratch the 100yrd headlamp, use a headlamp with a red light your trying to see a few feet in front of you, not light up the whole forest

    ugh?!?1?!?

was her tail up or down when she took off?
  5. Your welcome to come tag along on a bowhunt out east on public land if you like, you don't need a weapon to accompany someone on a hunt, it may introduce you on what to look for signs/travel routes ect.. and we may even see some deer
  6. Bow hunting would open alot of options, lots of public land on the island, you can practice shooting together and get to know someone a bit better as well
  7. agreed, hopping onto a website the day of the season and looking to find someone to hunt with whom you never met and need to borrow a gun is unlikely to happen, but ya never know
  8. so you ask permission, only time you stop tracking is when you loose a track.
  9. spray all your clothes liberally with Sawyer Permathin, let dry then put clothes in a large ziplock storage bag (get dressed and undressed at your car) duct tape your pant legs to your boots....
  10. I smoked for 18 years, no patches, no gum, no chantix garbage. Alan Carr "easy way to quit smoking" if you really wanna quit read it, by the time you finish the book your done smoking. Instead of taking smoke breaks at work, i would still go outside but instead read a few pages you can thank me later
  11. 3 years smoke free... When I did smoke I smoked in my stand, still seen plenty of deer
  12. disagree, not all areas are created equal
  13. Venison Carpaccio does sound good, gotta try it on the next deer i butcher
  14. all depends where i'm hunting i have one spot out east you can sit all day, i guarantee you will only see deer heading in one direction the last hour of daylight without fail.
  15. Go Nikon... Prostaff 3, works awesome, small, lightweight, long battery life and it's around $150 i like it better than the Luepold

    Salmon running?

    You guys eat those fish?
  17. NFA-ADK I did that trip, well MRP for early blackpowder season, rained just about everyday and one night we had sustained winds of 40 with gusts to 60, our site looked like a bomb hit ot the next morning, always a great time though...
  18. No question the satisfaction of an archery kill tops a gun kill in some ways, I personally compare it to bait fishing to fly fishing, however that being said its all in the experience you get, i remember times bow hunting and seeing a basket 8 out of bow making a rub out of bow range, if i had a gun he would have been shot before ever getting to watch that
  19. I actually started bow hunting first, hunted 4or so years before taking a gun out, now I bow hunt then goto rifle for a week then back to bow on the island, bow gets tuff once rifle season comes around
  20. technically most spots are 1 car per spot, spots are spread out although i understand your concern regarding your deer, you have just as much of a right to hunt as they do to bike if they don't like seeing dead deer they can bike in places that don't allow hunting.
  21. bikers can be at rocky point until Nov 1st. most spots are 1 car only, RP is 5,500 acres plenty of areas to explore, some spots are better for still hunting others you can use a treestand, climber, some spots you can walk all day without finding a tree you can climb
  22. Danny

    Clean Up

retire it, or check it real good for integrity, passing through an animal is not the same as sticking in a block target
  23. My bad, I stand corrected thanks for the clarification stretcher
