Could be....Question is when?? Usually, water...sex...food...sex...(did I say sex?) have a higher priority than dusting. That said, a setup overlooking a dusting site could work mid to late morning.

Bomber being charged as a civilian
Early replied to Deerthug's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Hey.....This guy is/was a civiilian...Why charge him as anything else? Those of you who wish to "hang the alleged" before trial ever begins are acting in a most UnAmerican way!! -
7 1/2 will work, but I'd go with 6's. Anything from 4's to 7 1/2's will kill a turkey, but given my druthers, I'd go with 6's. (That's plain old lead 6's; no need for designer ammo!)

Remington 1100 and WinChester 120 Ranger
Early replied to fadetoblack188's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
We have both guns in the family: Our 1100 has killed a bunch of turkeys, but it does accept choke tubes. Your modified choke would work, but I think the Winchester would be better...with a tighter choke tube installed. Look for an affordable choke tube: Undertaker...TruGlo... or something similar. Get yourself some 3" 6's and bust a few paper targets. I think you will like what you see. -
Good Job...Congrats!

As fishing lures catch fishermen....High priced choke tubes and designer ammo catch turkey hunters!

Stopped at Del Sports in Margaretville yesterday: Found far less ammo than normal...but no price increases...no gouging...at least on the stuff I wanted.
-
True, but if you switch to 6's, you will have more shot in the pattern, with all the knockdown power you will need at turkey range. If something about 6's turns you off...go to 5's; still better than 4's. I have killed turkeys with plain old lead shot in 4's...5's...6's...and 7.5's. My go to choice....6's !!!
-
I would also suggest a switch to #6 shot.

Looks like a sure fire turkey killer to me!! I like your choice of ammo: I have had great success with Kent in both 12 and 20 ga.

"Lockdown", I hate that word. To "lock me down" is to limit my ability to protect myself. Citizens in a democracy should not be "locked down"!

Senate Rejects Expanded Background checks
Early replied to Deerthug's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Actually GUNOWNERS OF AMERICA played a large role. Support them as well as the NRA. This makes it so obvious why Herr Cuomo cirvumvented the legislative process to push through his SAFE ACT. Now, we are left to overturn it...if it can be overturned. -
Heqds up guys....This is a "CRISIS"....Cuomo will not waste a crisis. God only knows how he will react to this...and somehow shift the blame to us.

Youth Turkey Hunt Contest - Enter Now - Deadline April 24th

When I read the subject line for this post, my first thought was, "Bad Idea!". However, the way you describe it, I think it is a GREAT IDEA!!! -
Will NY state lands remain "forever wild"?
Early replied to PREDATE's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
The State lands shown on the map you reference are not "Forever Wild" lands. What that means...or will mean, I'm not sure. -
Will NY state lands remain "forever wild"?
Early replied to PREDATE's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Our State Forest Preserve lands, are protected by the Constitution as "Forever Wild". As such, they remain free from gas exploration until a Constitutional Amendment changes things. Don't look for that to happen anytime soon. As to the recent (and not so recent) land purchases by the State in remote Adirondack regions...That boggles my mind. We New Yorkers are "land poor", and much of the land we own is so remote that most of the people cannot use it. There is a great need for outdoor recreation areas close to the people. The State, however, ignores that need. Instead, land purchases are made in areas that are essentially out of reach of many of us. Go figure! -
Fisherwomen are delightful...as long as they are genuine; not artificial!

Love your closing comments....Right ON!!!

Save your money...Just pin a disposable body warmer to the inside back of your regular hunting jacket. Daylong warmth provided to the kidney area for less than a dollar a day.

Corn snakes are very common in New York....and, they love to crawl into buildings.

What do the cops think?
Early replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Interesting survey, but it means nothing. Cops are already actively "enforcing" the SAFE ACT. -
Hmmm....Not sure; guessing the grip safety.

Next time...misplace your shotgun...go buy a new one!
