Would be a trip to land one this big. When I lived in Lousiana I saw a few of these monsters swimming around while fishing. Had one on an occasion use the bass boat I was in for shade. Pretty scarry to have an 8 ft fish that close to you. I caught a 26 inch stripper out of the Sabine River one time that was all tore up from an Alligator Gar attack. Holly crap your not kidding birdsfoot is expensive. Luckily My plots are small so hopefully that will work to my advantage. Only problem I can see is, I have read, it is hard to get established which could turn into being expensive.

Cant beat the 16lbs, I sold my old viper because it was a bit heavy to be lugging up and down hills. Plus I had a really wide 8 point walk in at a wierd angle and stand right under my stand and I couldnt shoot straight down because of the railing.

Use to hunt up in Greene on about 300 acres and the place was absolutely run over by them. It wasnt unusual to see eight of them at a time in the fields and on the walk to my stands in the morning every hill top had a pack howling on it.

Nice, got out and hung my cam today in a new spot that I am going to put a food plot in. I raked all the leaves of it the other day and when I went there today there was Bear, deer and turkey tracks all over it. So should be able to get some good pics

I was thinking of Winter rye,and then Birdsfoot trefoil and chicory this yr. They are both invasive weeds but Ive read once they are up they block out all other weeds, are drought and cold tolerant and high in protein and can last for a long time. The Birdsfoot is suppose to spread like crazy too. Anyone ever plant any of them before?

Had a friend whos father lives in Canada, He had a heart attack in the States and went back to Canada for his free Government health care. He almost died because he was on an 8 month waiting list for heart surgerie. Doesnt sound like a good Idea to me.

Check to make sure you dont need a permit also for the deck. I put in a 13' x 33' deck a few yrs ago and a couple of days after I received a letter from the town saying they had noticed I put up a new deck without buying a permit or filling out the paper work and they were not pleased. I went down and filled out the paperwork which was a complete pain in the ass. I had to draw a diagram of the deck and measure the distance from the deck to the property lines and put in writting that the footers were 48 in deep since they werent able to visually insp and verify that they were. Paid my 25 dollars and never heard from them again. So hopefully if I ever sell the place I wont have to tear the deck off because it was never insp and approved. Funny thing is I live 20 min from the town hall, I think one of my neighbors tattled on me.

Either you get bad winters around there or you have some really bad shots. I did a ton of criscrossing my properties and found one skull that was so old the antlers were almost gone. If I find a dead deer its quite a suprise.

Me and my buddy went up to the ADK. for some backwoods hiking and fishing one time in the Cedar river flow. We were standing there fishing on the shore of cedar lake, when out of nowhere a man and women hiker were walking toward us.They were really upity looking with all sorts of nice new equipment. Well we stood there shootin the crap with them for about five min. When my buddy turned to his left and they got a good look at his hand cannon strapped to his side and they stopped mid sentence turned and left. We stood there looking at eachother like what just happened. We had a good laugh about it and went back to fishing. I bet they wouldnt be to offended about my friends 44 mag if they had gone down the trail a bit and were attacked by a black bear. It amazes me that people back pack allover the ADK without a gun on them.

My Dad said while he was in North Carolina around the reileigh area this weekend there was a buck walking around my sisters neigborhood with a full rack still on.
