  1. Good choice sticken with the shwackers !
  2. Def gonna have to get the hubby to come down with the tractor to haul those fatties out this year!
  3. Well I'm a PT who lives for the stuff... Good for you educating yet another clueless person , most likely no fault of her own... I jump at the chance to talk to people who look at me with two heads when they find out I'm an avid hunter...
  4. Anyone know of a food for the hungry place that accepts deer donations in Erie/ niagara county? I pass plenty of doe's cause it's just me, don't need that much meat!
  5. Well they won't have to worry about their shotty store when cabelas opens.. I could walk to the gander in tonawanda from my house n I will gladly drive the extra 15-20 minutes to cabelas... Back home I was used to having a bass pro down the street toget whatever I wanted n I was bumbed when all I had was gander n dicks ...
  6. Few trees I've noticed by me are loaded in genesee
  7. Huh, I drive that way to get to my ground and scan the woods all the time n never see any off the highway, call me unlucky I guess.. Have seen a couple doe's n little bucks ridin along the canal on the UB bike path.. That's what a no hunting zone will give ya...
  8. Deer flies have been hell this summer setting cams up ... Not fun continuously swatting them relentless sob's on what is supposed to be a peaceful walk in the woods...
  9. ya, u could see it dried on white on the cams and on the cable slide... as soon as the cable slide was cleaned the sound was gone...
  10. Last years buck and two doe's were lung and/or heart shots , easy pass through and dead within sight... Year before that shot a buck through both shoulders , dead in sight, and a doe that was at a steep angle jumped on me hit her square in the spine and was sticking out 3 inches or so from her brisket, dead AT THE tree... The only one I had a problem with was a diflection off a small twig n hit a buck at a funny angle with 5 or 6 inches of penetration , luckily that was good enough to clip the bottom of the heart, little bit a tracken but blood trail was fine... I believe they have inch n a half diameters now, but with rediculous penetration it all works out... The bone crushing ability is unreal even at sharp angles stays it's course through n through... Can't hurt to give em a try , or even better check out the Elmer's edge , an improved version of the same design...
  11. I'm with ya on the shwackers.. Been using em for the past 5 years or so n won't switch until they stop maken them...
  12. Just got back from the bow shop cause my bow was making a sound like a spring being compressed or loaded when I drew back... Noticed it during late muzzy n thought it must be the 6 degree weather. Nope! Out of just being thorough in my scent control I spray my bow down ... Don't do it! Scent sprays are salt based and can settle on ur cams, cable slide , little crevices in the limb pockets ,eat away at ur limb silencers , stabilizer , and even dry out ur string .. Little TLC for the cable slide n sound was gone... I will never spray the bow down again ..
  13. one of the three cams never worked out of the box, can't change the time cause the controls don't work, one of the cams gets random over exposures, , just hit or miss.
  14. ya i have an older one that doesn't have that LCD screen option, but with that fish-eye lenz you cant miss what your pointing at but makes everything look so far away... one a these days i'll find a solution camera... or rope a buddy in to freeze his but off wit me to film...
  15. I do the same , bow mount , but again they have to be right on top of you to get anything viable. That's the only bad thing about the go pro, that n u don't have a viewing screen to see what your filming ... I tried a couple a time with a tree arm mount cam along with the bow mount go pro and I gotta say it's tough ! The buck I shot last season during bow came in so quick I had no time but to grab the bow , turn around , draw n shoot , no way did I have a chance to turn both cams on , but I wasn't about to miss the opportunity ... The go pro is great for turkey, or a second view for drawing (tree mount or bow) but not for a primary footage of them coming in and zooming in on the shot...
  16. Good luck with it.. Hope it works out for ya but anything that company makes will not be getting my money anymore ! Don't have any personal experience with that model , but chances are if it does work out of the box , probly won't for long..
  17. No deer or turkey in the Caribbean lol...
  18. Than u've never hunted osceolas in the fl swamps lol.. Nice bird though congrats!
  19. Omg she's alive... As for mr tom , not so much , gratz!
  20. Depends for me... Ideally yes , but if I've been workin a skidish bird for two hours I'm takin first available, but if he's hot to trott n all about the deaks than ya , stick that head up , I dare ya lol...
