  1. Great advice. Old timer told me this a few years ago and it does help!
  2. Where are you located? I think people overthink scouting way too much. Tracks, trails, rubs, scrapes, beds, food and water source. For me if i can find a minimum of some of those then i know im in a decent area. Find em all and usually youve hit the jackpot. 2 deer in three years isnt bad. Heck im on a 2 year drought of zero deer right now. Not because they arent there
  3. Saskatchewan? Mid west? I know they grow em big in those places!
  4. Have to agree with the above. Its not too hot, ive seen tons of deer movement as have my hunting buddies. All day sits...probably right about it not being the right time. Deer have to move. If they didnt move in the heat...then how did they survive summer? Excuses excuses. But to each his own:)
  5. Had a stand stolen a few years back. Literally put it up on a wednesday, hunted it friday. Took a friend to hunt it on sunday...it was gone. Private property and about 100 yards from the house. Ridiculous. Albeit it was a home made stand but the idiots dragged it thru the woods and put it up on their property about 200 yards away. They left the expensive straps...strange because they were worth more than the stand! Cops enjoyed watching these guys squirm as they clearly stated it wasnt them...but the cops also followed the drag marks made by this heavy stand. Its just starting to get out of hand and at somepoint itll get worse.
  6. Also not trying to be a downer...but my 870 smoothbore shooting the cheap remington sluggers with a 3x9x40 scope groups way better.
  7. Woke up at 530 am....and felt like absolute garbage. Hate it because this morning was perfect. Might still go an sit until noon or go this evening.
  8. Mid to high 40's....west wind....sounds like a recipe for disaster (if your a deer)

  14. I did hunt it the next day and this past weekend. Ive had buddies search with me....zero luck. As for hunting in the rain...ill leave that to others. I dont enjoy being soaked and certainly do no want to hit one and lose all the blood trail. Yes its happened before where i hit one and it started raining while tracking. Luckily i saw the deer go down. Sent from Outer Space
  15. I know my shooting lanes. Just my eyes told my brain that dark limb is behind her lol Sent from Outer Space

    ACORNS

Buddy i hunt with said it sounded like it was raining acorns over the weekend. But no deer activity. Sent from Outer Space
  17. Im hoping your right. They were hitting the apples hard before the storm. Apples were slowly falling but now im sure most will drop. Good news for me...and hopefully bad news for the deer. Although ive yet to see a buck hitting the apples, with the exception of a dog sized button buck lol Sent from Outer Space

    ACORNS

Spot we hunt the deer are barely touching the acorns. Apples on the other hand are getting hit hard. Sent from Outer Space
  19. Good thing i have about ten apple trees within 50 yards of me! Sent from Outer Space
  20. I looked some more for it this weekend....no luck. Probably buried in a pile of leaves or completely stuck in the dirt. Ive got extra arrows! Sent from Outer Space
  21. Go get em! Sent from Outer Space
  22. Sounds good to me! Seen deer moving at all times of the day. Even in the heat and the rain. Giving my spot a rest for a few days! Sent from Outer Space
