  7. i got one last spring. i didnt get to bow hunt near as much as i wanted. only got out three times. used the climber each time and it performed perfectly. used it once during gun season, and it worked perfectly again. very happy with the product and want to wear it out next year. lol i got the baby lite and it weights only 12 lbs and seems very strong and seemed very solid. good luck.
  8. found this while hunting asp on m/l friday Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
  9. i seen a guy carring two m/l rifles in DLSP on m/l sunday. he was also carring a ladder stand. just seems like too much stuff.
  10. great job on a nice late season buck. hope to get my first ny m/l buck in the next few days. good looking kids too. congrats
  11. hey Backyard, the bow only section should have some deer that are not as spooky at least by now. and dont worry about the gun hunters wandering over there by accident. if they got there, it was on purpose as eleven mile creek is quite a challenge to get across and well posted as being no gun hunting. be sure you have the free permit that is available at the kiosk on harlow rd. there will be some m/l activity on the gun side to keep the deer moving. i may hunt up to three days there my self. most parking for the bow only area is on harlow. there are plenty of deer left and remember, next year trophy is still out there. good luck. two deer from this year taken in DLSP.
  12. next years trophy is still out there. at lease till i catch up with him with my M/L. leaving right now. good luck to all.
  13. welcome to NY and to the site. i used to spend a lot of time in Hornell. i worked at Morrison Knudson (now called Alstom) rebuilding locomotives, transit and subway cars. and could of spent way to much time at Luceys. oh well. lots of good hunting on the state lands nearby. good luck and again welcome.
  14. enjoyed the story, my grandfather was a big hunter with a lot of guns. wish i had one but, they all came up "missing". congrats to you and your gramps.
  15. no need to remove a little surface rust, as that will allow the trap to take the die better. you dont want flaking rust. i use a glass beader/sand blaster to remove heavy rust. if that is not available then its a hand held wire brush. good luck
  16. depends on situation/weather. i dont have stands up, i like to still hunt a lot. although on opening day in ground blind or big tree way before day light and sit all day. after that, may wait till day light to still hunt. if it is raining hard will certainly wait. light misty rain may go in a little bit earlier. snow or snowing maybe do something else. on high activity days may again go in before dark and sit all day. where i want to hunt on any given day has a lot to do with the when and how. guess you could say its a game day decision. work has more to say about it than anything. somrtimes cant go till after day light, sometimes have to quit before dark, . but that will change some day soon i hope . thanks and good luck to all.
  17. where are you guys hunting in cuba. i will come over and be on watch at your stands while you go get warm. lol do the lunch thing and yes to the sunrise to sunset thing.
