Love it! You'll find out just how much you trust your life to your craftsmanship and materials when the waters rise.., the temps plummet.., , and the current is rushing inches below your feet. Build your faith in it now, or it's likely it will serve no purpose when mother nature throws another challenging hurdle on top of it. Hope it serves as a good safe crossing for you this season!

Can anyone give me a lead on a local course with openings for this area? Everything seems to be booked solid localy, but I have an interested new recruit that would hate to miss out on the upcoming season due to inadequate course availability. Erie County, Springville, Boston, Machias, Buffalo(not so much), Lancaster, Hamburg, Arcade, Depew, Amherst...... that kind of area.

Good luck Davey, that last one is a BEAST!

Velvets getting tight.. shot from last night.

It's my unpredictability that makes my technique so effective!

Typically I'd go with the non typical, but since this is not a typical hunting scenario, I might take a non typical approach and take the typical. This is always such a hard decision for me.

That's pretty funny, didn't we just go through this with the political threads clogging up the front page. Do we REALLY need 3 posts about Lawdwaz's birthday...! Have a good one Lawd!

Black bears get to walk. First polar bear I see is getting dumped!

They are super cool looking birds for those of us who aren't used to seeing them every day. I saw this one out on Grand Island a few years back. It was one of the first pics I ever took with my camera so the quality is not very good. Very skittish compared to the blue herons that were also in the area.

I'm having a hard time putting a name to some of the forum member faces here. I'm sure there's more floating around the web somewhere I'm hoping you guys can help me out with, or maybe a few I'm failing to recognize in this one,lol I think this is a shot of our founding fathers, banned members, and a few abductees that have disappeared over the years. Pretty sure I recognize Doc in his lab coat in the second row, 4'th from the left, with the stethoscope around his neck! Bubba on the far bottom left standing next to growalot in the top hat.... or is that Paula..? ... and it looks like ol' fasteddie 2'nd row from the top in the white shirt and rainbow suspenders. I guess it's true what they say about guys with big feet after all,lol Would love to see some better pics if you guys got any..

....and the neighbors always wonder why the quiet guy next door just suddenly snapped! That would push me over the edge, lol Awesome shots! -
It wont happen again.... scouts honor! Just making sure everyone was paying attention, lol!

Wow- Rudolph and company obviously had no clue what they were hauling in that sleigh! Hope they find an extra jug of "Deer Cane" in their stockings for making such a risky trip out of season! Looking forward to the review!

Maybe you guys could use whitetail sounds and vocalizations to communicate. You would just need to come up with some sort of codes for each.. a few examples below. single grunt= not seeing anything doe bleat= not a freaking thing yet rattling antlers= still not seeing anything snort wheeze= where the hell are they all fawn bawl= still nothing, so we'll see if this works tending grunt= I'm gonna climb down and run back to camp for lunch..., you want me to grab you a cold one? other non threatening sounds: complete silence= I got a booner in my crosshairs...., or.... I left my ammo in the truck, be right back!

Hehe- I must have got caught up in the moment and forgot what page I was on. Sure does get the blood pumping seeing those shiney antlers though. I hope nobody started blabbing to their buddies at the office yet. It was an honest mistake.... I swear, lol!

Any update on this guy?

Holy crap, another one! We're getting close now.

I do, I do!

Gun season.., even my Gatoraid is orange. Any other season my flavor varies depending on what boots I'm wearing.

Love all these bucks peeling out of velvet! Can't wait!
-
That's one way to get it waxed thoroughly, lol My BIL had a string jump off the cam and when he took it to the shop, they just put it back on like it was something common and sent him on his way at no charge. I'd be scared if that ever happened to my rig.
-
Helluva job keeping track of these bucks again this season WNYB! Love your summer progress reports you share with us of these studs! Can't wait to see which antlers you kill or get a bead on this fall, winter ,and spring! One way or another, I hope we get a better look at them all!

I can think of plenty of things that make a whitetail buck inferior amongst his herd. What makes a buck inferior to any given hunter is open to his interpretation, based on his hunting grounds location, expectations, and observations. The OP's buck would be a 1.5 yr old buck in my woods with no wiggle room for debate..

The best hornet hunters I know, always shoot a WASP!
