So I blow through a rinehart woodland buck every year (last year 2). I never even exchange the replaceable core because shooting down at it from an elevated deck, I shoot out the belly area that holds the insert in. It's such a thin belly area. When the insert is gone so is the buck. Lol I usually duct tape everything together until hunting starts but the arrows get reside from the tape weather getting nice, I need to pick up a 3D target. Would love one that holds up. Thinking of trying the woodland boar as it has a thicker belly below the replaceable core. At least it looks it. Any thoughts on that or others. Not really interested in dropping big money on one unless I know for sure it will hold up for many seasons. Everyone raves about rinehart but they haven't held up that well for me. maybe I shoot too much or I just don't make perfect shots often enough. Probably a combo of both. My basement target butt of compressed carpet on the other hand seems invincible.

NYT - The Girl Who Hunts With Hawks

That's pretty darn cool -
Not sure I would call it instinctive. I use the arrow for windage and the sight window for elevation. I like sight windows in the 3" range as then I can usually tune the bows to hit in the same spot in the sight window at 20yds. Target sits a little higher in window at 0-15 and in and lower at 25-30. I do hold and aim. Pretty easy to snap shoot/not aim and shoot well inside of 15 but not so much for me past that.

Nope grampy. I have the same problems with bows that some have with guns. Never enough. lol I hunted with my black widow last year. At least the bows I shoot daily, unlike guns that just sit in my safe.

I like the arts and crafts style. Nice work taco. Requires skill and patience. -
Didn't William Tell use a cross bow, at least the last two weeks of archery season?

Made by Bob Morrison. 15" riser with his new max 4 limbs. 60" and about 50lbs at my DL. Smooth draw and very fast. Impressed so far Law.

I think it has to be dead center to count. That just $12 down the drain.

Speaking Of Lost, What's The Worst Thing You've Lost?
moog5050 replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
So about 5 years ago, I was heading to the range and placed my cz 30-06 premium in its case on top of my truck while I loaded it up. Arrived at the range 30 min away as happy as a clam until I went to grab my rifle. Yep, drove away with it on top of my car and never heard it fall off. Really stupid. I was in a panic that someone could be hurt by my rifle if found by the wrong person and drove the route back and forth 3 times hoping to see it lying on the side of the road. No luck. I had no idea what to do so I called the police and explained what happened. They said they would let me know if it was turned in. I figured that was it. 4 days later, cops call and say they have it. Honest young man found it just outside my tract on the main road and scooped it up before another car that was stopping to grab it. He put an ad on craigslist in lost and found and police were notified. They retrieved it and brought it to me. I really wanted to do something for the young man but he absolutely refused. Said it was the right thing to do. That's integrity! Oh, I never place my gun case on top of a vehicle any longer. -
You loved grand jury? You are a sick puppy Larry and where is that key hide box? I need $20.
-
Just let the lawyers know that you will make a great juror because you can spot the bad guy a mile away. You will never be selected for any jury, criminal or civil. lol
-
Don't worry Pygmy. I will lose it again GUARANTEED and you can find it next time! Just like my father and his keys. Plenty of chances to be the hero.
-
You should have received a juror number. When you call, the recording should say "juror numbers x-xx must report for jury duty on Feb 21." If you aren't in the first group, you have to check every night. Call in tomorrow and find a live body - commissioner of jurors or similar title - and ask.

I know this is insignificant to you guys, BUT I FOUND MY ACCURACY AGAIN! WOO HOO! Better than finding a $1000 bill. Whoever found my accuracy, thank you so much for returning it. Best practice session, perhaps ever, tonight! Slow down, aim, HOLD, and slowly expand. Looky there, the arrow goes right where I am aiming, time after time. I feel as good as when I kill a nice buck. overthinking and tinkering with things like anchor can ruin me. And, without providing legal advice, living trusts are one way viable option in Medicaid planning. There are others too.

I have done the ass over many times when I thought I was evil kneivel (sp?) as a youngster on my kx80. In fact, I did so after showing my brother how to set the unofficial world record jumping it in 6th gear. Tough to keep that front end up when you are maxed out. Lol.

If anyone from the Rochester area is interested in going, shoot me a PM. I might go, depending on the wife's plans. Shooting lousy right now, but all I have to lose is my pride.
-
Very cool pic and bike BUT, if that was required, I would definitely be hunting from the ground. Does not look very comfortable at all.

I seem to have lost my ability to shoot a bow accurately the last few weeks. If anyone finds it, please return it. I am forming a callus, or several, searching for it.
