OK, I am on day two of eating nothing but raw plain veggies and fruit. This thread is killing me. And, I stuck my foot in my mouth telling my wife I could stick to this absurd diet longer than her. ugghhhhh I probably should just crack sooner than later as I suspect she will last longer than me regardless. lol And, I am REALLY HUNGRY!

Honestly Biz, Mathews may be the biggest but not necessarily the best. They make a good bow as do many other companies. It's worth shooting a few to see what feels good to you. I have owned Mathews, Hoyt, bowtech, elite, prime and obsession. And probably others I am forgetting. So far my favorite compound is my obsession Phoenix. That said, I enjoyed all of the other compounds I owned with the exception of the Mathews helium. No valley on that thing at all. Big let off, good valley and solid backwall usually make for an enjoyable bow to shoot. Don't get too caught up in the speed race either. Any modern compound is plenty fast to kill deer without a huge loss of trajectory at reasonable hunting distances.

That's a good deal. Some courts don't care about what the plea is. They just want the fine. Usually the thruway speed traps.

Show up in court. No lawyer needed. The ada will reduce it and offer a plea hopefully to a non speed 2pt violation as that is a 4pt speed. $200 give or take for fine and surcharge.

In fairness, being a former tuning addict, I was trying to get absolutely perfect bareshaft at 40yds from an 82lb phoenix and it only required a very minor adjustment. Most would have been very pleased even without the shim adjustment. I shimmed more elites with the solid limb than the obsessions - again more due to my anal tuning than practical need. Both are quality manufacturers in my opinion. The beyond parallel preload really requires split limbs. Anyway I am not in the market as the phoenix remains my all time favorite compound and I now prefer hunting with the recurve (which takes more effort to tune since human error plays a much greater role in reading results).

I can assure you having owned 3 obsession that are split limbs with no yoke, they all tuned great. 40yd bareshaft on the money great. One did require adjusting shims to get there, but if Elite does it right, that would not concern me. Just my experience though.

Moras are exactly what I recommend to anyone that needs a quality knife cheap. Mediocre minds must also think alike. lol

Darn it Belo. You just cost me $132. They had 14s. lol And I said I didn't need anything, which I don't, but wanted to try the supreme vs. woody elite.

That's pretty steep for a compound. They don't hold value as well as a rifle or even custom trad bow. It better shoot well because in 3-4 years it will only be worth $450 give or take. Or buy one used in a year for 7 bills

I understand that split limbs allow more preload. I owned many elites (simgle limb) and several obsessions (split limbs). They all shot good but when comparing similar spec bows the obsession is usually faster. Not that I personally care much as my 160fps recurve kills em just as dead. Lol. I am sure the new elites are great bows. For fine tuning, the split allow you to reposition limbs a bit better too. Plus, they need something new for everyone to drop $800 on a new bow. IMO.

I am in the same boat. I walked around Cabelas with my wife yesterday afternoon because we happened to be in Buffalo and I have never been there. I literally left with an $8 clearance baseball hat. Don't need a thing. Honestly the sales didn't seem all that great either even if I did need something. BTW - watch ebay for mucks. I have bought them for 40-50% off post season on ebay.

My own 40 acres is probably 60 percent muck land. I understand much of it was farmed at one time but now its cattails with some higher ground holding timber mixed in. It results in a ton of transition lines throughout the parcel making a 40 acre parcel hunt much bigger as the deer walk all of the transition lines. Plus, the higher spots in the muck (islands) are great bedding for deer and tend to be a safe spot for them. You might consider leaving some of it as is for bedding (assuming you have islands - easy to spot as that is where the trees grow in the midst of the cattails and you will find clear deer trails leading to them). We have a lot of islands on my property. Pretty easy to cut useable entrance trails through the cattails by using a full 4x8 piece of plywood and laying it on the cattails, walk and flip again. Grows in every season but wait until august to cut the trails and they will remain until the following spring. Plus the laid down cattails give you something to walk on so as not to sink in the muck. My land is surrounded by ag fields and a preserve and has had some really good resident bucks over the years. Just a thought.

Reminds me of Clarke's Ale House in Syracuse. I put quite a few of those away.
