Verminator it oks to take head shots when your using a shotgun in "Any Shot size only" locations... (Anyone that doesn't get that its a reference to another thread) I took a head shot once and luckly hit the deer right between the eyes. I would never do it again and don't recommend. I think its a matter of ethics

Need help deciding on a new 30.06 and 12Ga

Winchester Model 70 is arguablely the best rifle out there. Get one of the newer ones with the new adjuastable trigger and they went back to old style bolt like the pre 64's unlike the frail bolts of a remington 700. Either a mossberg or remington pump are great because of how adaptable of a gun they are. I prefer the mossberg because I use a regular stock and like the safety location -

Thats like saying the high school janitor is the same as teacher because they all work for the same agency. Every parking ticket and speeding I ever got was my fault. I had one cop that was unreasonably being a d%$k but I was still speeding. -

First off all your tickets you taking about are written by metermaids not the police and that ticket fixing scandel was about getting rid of tickets for people. Get your facts right before you spew nonsense and lies on the internet -

What kind of summons did you get that the cop was wrong? -

People just don't like to admit they were wrong and rather act like a victim, those 3% that were dismissed doesn't mean they weren't legit it just means that they just beat the ticket. It's very simple if you don't want a ticket park your car legally, don't speed, get your car inspected, don't drive drunk, have valid insurance, regisltration and drivers license and then you will have no problems! -

Thats correct, If an officer has multiply tickets dismissed they are reprimanded and sent for retraining. -
What part of the state are you huinting?

If you are to aggresive you may piss off someone over a honest mistake that could have been easily handled otherwise. Example they may be happy to remove, apologize and even offer to pay to hunt the spot but you destroy their stuff and you come back on the weekend and all of your stands are missing and vandalized and you have no idea who the person is or even worse they act out violently. I'm pretty sure a tree stand isn't worth catching a bullet over!

No police getting nothing from their tickets not even a pat on the back. The money all goes to the county. -
I would give them a chance to get there stuff especially if it happned to be an honest mistake of not knowing the boundaries before I ripped it out.

what "tactics" are the using that cause law abiding citizens to break the law? I can't wait to hear this! -
I would write a letter explaining the situation and attached at the base of the where it can not be missed then I would follow the trail to where they enter your property tie a ribbon across with the same letter attached. Just curious is the land posted? If you came back back and it was clear that they were there and had not removed it then I would take it down and remove it.

"since then i havent gotten anymore tickets for the money hungry sobs in albany." They don't get paid on comission from tickets -
243 is fine for deer. The swedes have been using a round comparable to the 260 to shoot moose for years and years. I've shot plenty of deer with a 223 and never had a problem and thats even smaller. I punched a doe in the chest with my 270 that ran almost a 100 yards even though its heart and lungs looked like a grenade went off. I have had the 270 drop other deer with the same shot on the spot. If you have the mentality that bigger is better use a 50 cal BMG that will stop'em

9mm will absolutely kill a deer but a horrible choice to use for pistol hunting. When you don't have the velocity that you get from a rifle you want something that's burning.

two questions that i need help with.
Guns&ReligionCop replied to sidewinder's topic in General Hunting
You may use a shotgun loaded with shot (any size). But says nothing about not being able to use it except The Northern Zone prohibits the use or possession of slug, buckshot or ball ammunition with shotguns when hunting with a dog It doesn;t say shot only anywhere, show me where I'm wrong -
Last year I was so excited after getting my deer that I dropped my phone from the tree stand climbed down tagged the deer unloaded my gun and packed up and went running home tripped over my own feet, twisted my ankle and fell head first into a stream and the gun went swimming as well

I've seen people use little kids as an excuse to fish without a license. "Oh I'm just helping the kids" but the kids are using expensives rods and lures not worms and bobbers. My 4 year old son is using a sponge bob lure with a worm and bobber. If the dec harassed me I would fight the ticket but if he was using my rig and a lure and I was just "helping" I deserve the ticket
