hey watch your mouth us snow birds also want a early spring so I can come home for the opening of trout fishing

bow is near impossible, they do see everything unless you are in a popup blind. Be out there in the first days of the season is the other best tip and just like deer hunting you have to scout the area you plan on hunting.

I sure think that it may be harder in the out years with the right wing trying to also buy votes with the non document people in our country. They will spend just like the left wing. There all bums, they tell you what ever you want to hear and then when you put them in, there just for themself and big money. We as hunters have to get together and push the guys in state/Washington to do what we want. My question to you is how did you support the march on our capital to show Como that what he put into law in the dark of night will not stand ? I am down in the south for the winter, so the best I could do was send out email asking for my hunter friends to spport and attend. It fine to just say everthing is Obma fault, well it not, 8 years of Bush with two wars not being paid for, the housing failure and the bank failures was not Obma fault. He may have made some big errors in his handling but unless we can get people working together, we will become a 2nd rate country.

they use to say they can not learn if they are on the wire. so keep taking him out and see if you can find a beagle club that has a place to train your dog. I use to take my hounds out several time a week , and sometimes even with the wife. She got so she liked to hear the dogs running at the club.

at 71 we need sign like that with a bad leg, the cars sure do not seem to allow us to cross the street even when they have slow painted in the road here in MB SC were we stay. Unless the car stops I sure do not try to beat them across the road....

DIY cheap easy snow camo job
sweet old bill replied to josephmrtn's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
glue left over can be removed with no problem with goo be gone.....works great taking off any of the crap left on a bow or stock. -
that is a lot of weight for starting out you would do a lot better with a 45 lb weight as there is no relaxing with a recurve. Also carbon is the arrow of choice for compound and alum is still number 1 for recurve or long bow as the weight of the arrow helps to ensure peneration of the arrow. You will also lose about 1 inch of draw length, from a compound. Most now use the 3 finer under the arrow to draw and look right down the arrow to use as a sight. Have fun

Best All Around Small Game Caliber?
sweet old bill replied to Rev Ev's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
a sling shot with rocks that all we will have left when they get thru with us hunters. -
winter birds down south from NY areas and having all he stock of ammo just about cleaned out, missing now is 22 long rifle and several of the popular calibers..... they are having there kids, grand kids or friends call to Myrtle beach SC to buy ammo and bring it north. were has the level heads all gone in our state govt ? There must be hunter pushing to get all these crazy laws taken of the books, just like they were signed into law in the dark of night with not a single hunter allowed to question the changes to the past / current law.

I just go south to Myrtle beach SC, since xmas we have had all the days be in the 70's, now it back to normal of 50 to 60's for about a week. The Sand dune archers held it first 3D shoot last weekend, and I had the best score for senior, but that does not say much as they also said I was older than dirt (71), shot a 248 on a 30 target course. BUt to me it was a great score as due to illness it was the first time I could shoot my bow since May of last year. But it is the best when you get that new bow and or upgrade to your bow. Seems just to be fun to shoot and plan for the next year hunting season. I also joined the club in SC and we get out there 2 to 3 times a week, they have a great practice range from 15 yards to 80 yards for the NFAA and 3D shooters to practice on.

Deep snow affect sucess?
sweet old bill replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
No, I have shot fox in deep snow while out rabbit hunting.. if it over 2 feet with a crust they can run just like on dry land on the top cover of the snow. -
welcome, you may want to try the walden rod and gun club in orange county...lots of good hunting lands and a great overall club.

I have hunted my total life ( 71 years ) and no longer can support the NRA, and or the call for no changes to current laws. I think a great first step would be the a ban on clips of 30 rounds or more. I sure can not see how some call the AR rifle a hunting rifle and then can with a minute shoot over 30 rounds, It was designed and mfg as just one thing a killing tool for people. I think this time the laws will change and I do not blame Obma. It will be the house and senate, your people that you put there will cause some of the laws to change. I do think the other factors must be mental illness sure seems to play a key part in these killings, what normal man would want to kill small kids. I say a prayer for the families and the kids that were killed. Sportmen / NRA should be part of the discussion and suggest the changes and not just say it my right to have a gun. Not true when your so called right, is causing killings of my grandkids, my kids and or my friends kids.

send him a regestered letter so he has to sign for it. Put in the actual history of you shooting the deer, your action to request permission to recover the dee, and the concern you have that he would not allow you to show him were you shot the deer to verify that it was on your place and not his. Also your concerns that you would like to settle this and not have any bad blood between you. Offer to move your stands another 100 yard away from the line. Ask him how you can resolve the issue with him. Offer him a piece of the doe. But do not go on his place without his permission and just put a letter in his mail box. I would also make a copy of the letter to him and send it to the local DEC agent for your area and ask for there help as well...

some of my 2011/2012 rabbit hunts
sweet old bill replied to huntersponrun's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Wow I sure miss having my rabbit dogs, but due to health and age 71. I no longer can hunt with walking in brush all day, got a bad right leg. But sure miss having a pack, had 9 dogs at one time, and would run both brown and white....good looking dogs you have, all 15inch ???? SOme do look like 1/2 basset ??? -
This has occured to other Orange county hunters. I am not a gun guy but over the years have used sllcon spray on a rag and just let it be rubed in and around the bolt and also I put on the barrel rag as well. But the stuff I use does not seem to have a high water content. I am sure everthing worked as soon as you got the gun back in the house. After unloading the gun I sure would again wipe down with a rag to get any oil off the moving parts.
