  1. Its been a real crappy steel season from what I hear. I went up to the SR on Columbus weekend and I usually catch a bunch of steel but this time I maybe hooked 3 or 4 the whole weekend. Salmon season was also really bad.
  2. An AR is good, but if your looking for a bolt you cant go wrong with a T/C venture or a rem 700.
  3. Are you able to shoot steel through them?
  4. I love the price on the gun and the double triggers as well. Another thing im looking for is the capability of shooting steel out of my gun since I only hunt with steel or other non-lead shot.
  5. Ive been thinking about getting this gun in 20ga. From what I hear its a great gun.
  6. This coupled with the large amounts of acorns on the ground shows that were going to have a good spring turkey season and hopefully great fawn recruitment for deer. I'm excited to see how its going to effect turkey and deer season.
  7. Thats sucks! Hopefully they catch the guys or maybe the thieves will give them back.
  8. Already ahead of you. It really wasn't that bad. Driving in the 50 mile an hour wind while it was snowing would have probably been pretty dangerous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. We got about 27 1/2" of snow here in Queens last night with some wind drifts up to 5 feet. I think dealing with snow in the city is a little different than dealing with it in the country Fourseason.
  10. Were getting hit pretty hard here in NYC. So far the snow drifts are up to 4 feet in my back yard and some places have even more.
  11. I think we all know that's a huge waste of money. Neither of them sounds good to me.
  12. I think its a huge waste of money. The state is better off putting that money into habitat improvement than on a bounty. Best thing to do for coyote management is to help improve the fur market. Many trappers and hunters wont waste their time on a coyote or even bother trapping at all with these low prices.
  13. Nice! My grandfather has on in 30-06. Those guns are awesome for northeast woods.
  14. Welcome! There are a few hunters from the city on this sight.
  15. Welcome! Tughill has it right!
  16. What would you consider close proximity to NYC? Would that be with in 2 hours? I'm not coming at you or anything, Im just curious as to what some people consider close to NYC.
  17. Well I've seen plenty of dove in some of the areas I hunt that are close to NYC. In fact those spots are within an hour from NYC. I also see quite a few around my home and in my back yard in NYC. While I still believe that most NYC hunters prefer to hunt the more popular species, they would probably be willing to take some shots at dove. Many of us have never hunted them and we don't know how much fun it can be. We would have to introduce the dove hunting culture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Looks like the plot is already full of food with all the native grasses and forbs. What are your plans for the plot? Should be even better next year if you leave it the way it is now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I doubt many people realize that they have already shot the buck of their life time. I would always think there is a chance at a bigger one in the future which is correct.

  21. I bring a small chair with me and sit on that while leaning against the tree. Really helps with comfort and sitting for hours at a time.
