  1. Good point I never thought about that. Over 10 percent of the cost of the property. Well I hope it all works out for you. I don't think he'd throw the sale away since others will probably ask him to do the same. From what I remember it was a good looking piece of property. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Holy crap that's a lot. Maybe you can split the cost of it. If the property is worth it, then 8k isn't the end of the world. Although at the same time this should be the sellers responsibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. How much would the survey cost? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Good luck with him next year! Should be a nice deer. Sorry if I missed it but what's the latest word on with the property your father was buying? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't believe so as well. I always see deer there though. I might go around and see if i can find some land to hunt there...but thats going to be tough.
  6. I don't believe that anyone here is being a coyote protectionist in fact I'm sure we all would shoot a coyote if we had the chance. I also believe that we would be better with no coyotes but I just don't see how that's going to be possible...and a bounty is going to do nothing but waste money. These coyotes are a whole new breed of predator. They adapt in ways that make it almost impossible for us to get rid of them. I would agree with you when you say that some information comes from anti hunters but when people who hold doctorates in wildlife biology and have been avid hunters for their whole lives, tell me that bounties will do nothing....I take their word for it. It's not all anti hunters participating in these studies. In order to really knock back the population, we need to severely knock down their population every year over a very, very large area. 7. I take my clothes off outside and then I let them hang for a day before washing and running them through the dryer. The dryer is what kills them if they are on a piece of clothing that is not covered with permitherin. I would also suggest wearing a thin thermal layer to help stop the ticks from getting to your skin.
  8. I heard that if you spray the hide or dunk it in some sawyers (permitherin) then you should be fine.
  9. Congrats on the deer! That buck is certainly a mounter and an awesome deer for a first buck. Your a great father to do all of this for your son! My father started hunting because I liked it and m grandfather introduced me to it, and now he loves it as much as I do. Hunting will be a great way to spend quality time with him and a great sport that brings you in the outdoors instead of video games. Maybe in a couple years you can bring him out with you.
  10. Take the meat out and smell it after it thawed. If it smells off, you may have to throw it out. If not cook up a small piece and try just a little to see how your body reacts.
  11. Wont do anything. not enough people will care as well as all the research pointing to the fact that coyotes will bread more now that the population is being thinned. It would take a MASSIVE statewide effort to get rid of the coyote problem. If the fur prices were back to where they used to be before they plummeted and there weren't as many restrictions on the type of traps then maybe it would be better.
  12. How long was it in the new freezer for? Did it smell alright? If it wasn't too long then it should be alright to eat.
  13. It defiantly made deer hunting interesting but this weather should be really good for the deer heard. A combination with a warmer winter and a ton of acorns means we should have more deer making it through the winter this year and healthier deer next year.
  14. Congrats on the new property and to your niece. Goes to show you that you should always treat your neighbors with respect and how you would like to be treated. Neighbors can make your life so much easier or it can make your life a living hell. Many times you see your neighbors more then you see your family.
  15. Ill defiantly be on the look out for that.
  16. The amount of acorns are going to help as well. I heard that the Jump between 4 and 5 can be huge but they also say that between 3.5 and 4.5. Either way good luck with him next year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. What scopes would you suggest for a Marlin XT .22 mag? Id like to keep the price with in $150 but ill defiantly look at those pushing around $200
  18. Looked like it was a nasty cut. Hopefully you have a speedy recovery!
  19. Thats great! Always great introducing kids into the sport.
  20. Hopefully he'll be even bigger next year!
