  1. Let me know the place you want to meet and we'll be there. His hotel is right by the 7 train
  2. At that time with the traffic we might be better off taking the train together
  3. I live in Flushing guys, so im in. Ive got to be in manhattan tomorrow night anyway so im fine with going to manhattan too. What time are you getting in Tacks?
  4. Shot on 10/25 Got to my stand around 6:10 and didn’t hear or see a thing until around 6:35-40 when I saw a big body about 40 yards in front of me. It was traveling the opposite way the deer usually do in the morning and it was all alone. I’m thinking it was a buck, but it was barely light enough to see a body let alone the head. I decided to text back a few girls that around 7:20 when I decided to look to my left in the middle of a text. I saw a giant body and nice antlers 15 yards from me, so I quickly figured out that it was a deer I would take. I put my phone in my pocket, got up and took the shot. I didn’t aim for more than a few seconds and let it rip once I saw it was in the ughh spot. I didn’t see where the arrow hit due to a few alder branches, but it sounded good and I didn’t see an arrow sticking out so I thought I just might have put a good shot on it. It ran down the same path that the deer I shot last week ran down and got right to the part where it was too thick to see well. I watched that spot really closely because i figured he was right there and just when I was saying to my self that he might be going down, he drops. Man what a feeling to put a good shot on a deer and watch it go down. I thought it was a big 8 at first, but turns out it’s a big 5. No brows as you can see and one of the points broke off. It was a little smaller when I got to it, but still very happy with it. It’s either the biggest body deer I’ve shot or second biggest. It was a damn chore to drag that thing out and my back isn’t too happy about it.
  5. I just wanted to let you guys know, you all caused me to drop some coin on a deer mount. Dropped my deer off today for a shoulder mount. I considered the pedistal mount, but I dont really have the space for it right now. I did mention how big the neck was so he's going to recreate the size of the neck. Trying out a new taxidermist that had pretty decent deer mounts. He's much closer to home than the guy I went to before and he's a much nicer guy.
  6. Never thought about that. I might do it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Man i think you guys have me convinced to drop some coin. Ill be dropping it off next weekend I guess
  8. Thanks for all the replys guys! Love this community!! Sorry about the late response, I was like a chicken with out a head running around. Like turkey feathers said, that thing was easily 200 pounds dressed. I train with guys that are 180-200 pounds and it felt everybit of 200. For the first time i keep replaying a shot sequence in my head that turned out welll lol. Caped it out and im considering mounting it. Like tacks said, its a really dark deer which is whats making me want to mount it and its my best bow buck.
  9. Okay guys here’s the story. Won’t be too long this time so I won’t bore you to death. Best part is I can still hunt up here for doe and go bowhunting on the island for bucks using my gun tag Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Okay guys, in all okay lol. Absolute giant body on this deer, so it took me a while to drag it out, skin it and butcher it. Took many breaks and a few extra water breaks through out the process. The deer isn’t as big as I thought at first, but still a nice deer in my opinion. I’ll post he story and some pics in a second post Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Big buck down guys. Was on my phone, looked up and saw him at 15 yards. Made a perfect shot and watched him go down from my stand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. You know my family is pretty lenient when i bring home a quarter and finish butchering it in the kitchen, but If i brought the whole deer in the house like that it would be over for me. Quartering gets done out in the woods where I can throw the ribs and the rest out and not bring it home
  13. Some mroe rubs and small bucks bumping some does, but thats about it for now
  14. I use an old tooth brush and water. Im realizing most heads are a one and done kind of deal. Good thing i buy them from amazon and get good deals on them
  15. Who knows. Maybe it was just me being dumb that got me caught lol
  16. Thats actually when I get busted by them. I have taken 2 from the stand, but they're more likely to run away into thicker stuff when they bust me in the tree. On the ground I usually get some type of shot easier
  17. In the fall they're pretty stupid in my expereince, but will move into thicker stuff when they see you get to full draw
  18. You have a good point. Most ethnic groups keep to themselves except for the people you mentioned
  19. Around me there are still a decent amount of Italian familys that hunt so its not too bad
