  1. Happy Birthday buddy! I hope you have a great day
  2. Honestly out of the 8 deer that ive shot with my bow, only 3 were pass throughs. I always ended up putting the shot in a bad spot for some reason so I usually hit some type of big bone. One of the reasons I have been thinking of switching to fixed heads is the increase in penetration. Im shooting somewhere in the 60's with a 28" draw
  3. I made a shotgun thread back in June, but I didnt make a gear thread. Ive been looking at decoys lately, so im also getting the itch lol
  4. Ive had some huge hits using snappers as bait
  5. I agree with grampy. Based on where the neck is meeting the brisket, its looking like a 3 year old
  6. Nothing for me this year, but im planning on going next year. No wife or kids so I figure this is the time to get a hunt like that done
  7. They have one in east fishkill as well. Only thing i dont like is if you cant pick it up the day they say its going to be ready, they sell it.
  8. Im with you on that. It gets a bit much sometimes, but like you said knowing how your deer was handled means a lot
  9. Id call the DEC. I got min with in a week of ordering and thats been my expereince the last few years
  10. Based on my exprience Its not 100 percent necessary for the spots I hunt. Id rather limit my use of permethrin since it is a neurotoxin after all, but I will use it during turkey season and for hunting on Long Island
  11. Treat it a day or two before opening day and let it dry. I only ever treat my clothes if im going to be hunting Long Island since I don't usually pick up many ticks upstate for some reason
  12. Looks like the men in my family tend to go somewhere in the 80's, but I do have lot that made it to the 90's. The women in my family tend to make it to the 90's. Id be happy making it to my 80's
  13. Saw about 6 or 7 poults on friday when I was scouting
  14. Bought a bunch of rage trypans off a friend who no longer hunts, so ill be using that this season. I have been thinking of switching to fixed broadheads
  15. Id probably just walk away and say good luck during the season and not to show up or the police will be called. Not sure what he thinks he has over you, but you're best just walking away from those conversations. Not worth an assault charge for a moron
  16. Only time I would use a red dot on a deer gun is for drives, when i know the shots will be under 100 and most of the time under 50 yards. Aside from that i prefer scopes always
  17. Its going to be way less recoil than a 20 guage so you dont have to be nervous about that at all
  18. I highly suggest using the GMX or any copper bullet
  19. Right this is one of the worst cases, but it is possible. There was a good video of a guy shooting a pig and taking an xray of the pig after he shot it with a lead bullet and you can see the pieces of lead all over the body cavity in the xray
  20. I saw it happen when someone shot into a vatt of water. Theres no doubt that lead breaks apart when shot into an animal. If it didnt, we would always have 100 percent weight retention. This is probably one of the extreems on how a bullet can break apart though
