  1. I know a lot of locals that shoot them during bow season. A lot of them dont see many deer during the season so they take one early for meat. At least thats what ive heard
  2. I made about 30 plans for the season yesterday scouting. Last year taught me to be very mobile so ill be sticking to being mobile again
  3. None. I don't eat squirrel so theres no reason for me to small game hunt right now. Probably wont small game hunt till after i get a couple deer on the ground
  4. Im a bit of both. I shoot does during bow season, but I try to pass them during the rut for a buck. I dont really see too many bucks in a season so I shoot a lot of does
  5. I feel you, but im more worried about the meat at that point
  6. If the weather hold true, I wont be going out till friday, saturday or sunday. Much better temps those days
  7. Looking like the 10/2, but if the weather changes maybe 10/1
  8. If they move it to Saturday ill be more than happy to go! I may even bring the bow and show them how its really done
  9. I use them every year. More for getting pictured of deer than actually hunting them, but thats only becuase I havent tried it yet. They work extreemly well if you do them right. All you need is the right location, a licking branch and some bare dirt. You can piss in them if you like, but bare dirt will bring them in no matter what. Location is the most important factor. If its not in the right area, it wont get too much action
  10. Just saw a big doe at exit 38 on Northern Parkway
  11. Patterns are overratted. One thing someone taught me was to wear different patterns for a jacket and pants. It helps break up your outline a little better then if you were one blob of the same camo. Ive been doing that ever since I started hunting, but just because thats the way it would happen.
  12. The problem with fracking is you never know whats going to happen when you fracture the bedrock. It could go perfectly well and you have access to the oil and natural gas, but it could also end up somewhere compleely different. That could possibly contaminate the drinking supply for hundreds or even thousands of people. Not worth the risk in my opinion
  13. Ive still yet to see a bear in the woods. I'd love to finally see one
  14. When I was 14 I was taking the bus home from school and my wallet fell out of my pocket. I had no clue until my father called me and said a lady put the wallet in the mail box. Apperently her kid was next to me and gave it to his mother who found my house from an address in there. I have found quite a few wallets and returned them all. I always think about how it would ruin my day of i lost mine, so i do my hardest to make sure i help out as much as i can
  15. Only flies I can reliably tie well are soft hackles. They catch trout thankfully
  16. Right, but how many rounds does it take to sight in? Roughly around 10 or so if there was some sort of problem. Its not nearly as much of a problem as everyone is making it out to be. In the grand scheme of how much we pay to hunt, and extra 10-20 buck a box will not kill us or force people to stop completely. You can still practice at the range all year and just make the switch for hunting season
  17. Ohh im sorry, I assumed wrong. No expereince with their products, but I never put anything out. Put a licking branch, scrape the ground and let the deer deposit real scent
  18. Seems like someething you're paying for that you can get for free by cutting a vine or branch
  19. Sounds very reasonable, but he's going to already be mad the lumber company is coming in so don't expect the best reaction out of him
  20. I also use copper for deer hunting as well. I don't shoot many times at animals, so the extra cost doesnt really add up to much like you said
  21. Oh really? I thought you could during trapping season. so definitely dont shoot the beaver then lol. Find a trapper in the area
  22. Wait till the season and take him out! I have a .22 you can borrow if youd like
