  1. A soldier ran up to a nun. Out of breath he asked, 'Please, may I hide under your skirt. I'll explain later.' The nun agreed. A moment later two Military Police ran up and asked, Sister, have you seen a soldier?' The nun replied, 'He went that way.' After the MPs ran off, the soldier crawled out from under her skirt and said, 'I can't thank you enough Sister. You see, I don't want to go to Afghanistan .' The nun said, 'I understand completely.' The soldier added, 'I hope I'm not rude, but you have a great pair of legs!' The nun replied, 'If you had looked a little higher, you would have seen a great pair of balls....I don't want to go to Afghanistan either.'
  2. so funny, i saw this girl for the first time hosting a hunting show on versus. SO HOT!
  3. no i think your right, i think she passed away. but since the guy told me about this i thought i was going crazy lol. because she was there last year in the beginning of the year when i went. how long ago were you there when they told you? shes was pretty funny, if you stayed on the right side of her.
  4. seriously? lol i was there last june and she was alive and well.... talking about the guys from bklyn always bringing her pastries... someonels tried to say she passed away over 2 years ago but i went there last june with a buddy to sight in my 270 and she was deff there! i verified this with the guy i went with. thats werid...
  5. whats kind of weird is you live on the island, hunt in dutchess, shoot a DXT LOL... And your name is Rob. the Rob im talking about is all of the above, i know this because i work with his dad, and on top of that the 200 yard topic is something he talked about all the time. Not saying you are the Rob i am thinking of but thats kind of strange... i dunno, Rob lol
  6. so who called shotgun to hunt that food plot first? lol
  7. see i thought they were chiggers but i have to be honest they look exactly like a tick! i am going to have to keep a few of these and inspect them better if i get the chance to. they dont have a red color that stands out like a larva chigger. these are darker which and looks exactly like a tick.
  8. Hey Rob, i figured it was you. No, i work with your dad - Bob. I met you at a hockey game once awhile back... hows it going? you amped up for deer season??
  9. i have 2 bushnells (IR) going to check them today or tomorrow
  10. post some more picks when you get back over there next. like to see hows its growing up. we will be getting some more moist air coming through. i dont think it will be too dry. "hopefully" lol
  11. i would say 9 out 10 times i have used the doe bleet is has worked for me! i like to even test the water early bow season with it not to use it irregular but simply to test it and even early bow i have striked the interest of buck to walk RIGHT UNDER me. doesnt work all the time but i have had great success with it and it actually is a staple in my hunting bag. killed a few bucks with it that i may not even had come in, but when i used it some of them were like getting pulled in like they were on a leash...
  12. some of the best time to hunt is early season, early october. you can have a better drop on a buck at food source simply because the buck is still in feed mode. the buck has not switched in to pre rut mode. so hunting food sources is usually productive with buck activity. once buck starts to feel the rut food sources become hit or miss IMO. a bucks habit will change regardless if a hunter is in the woods or not. When that estrus beckons a buck will do the dam-nest things... hard to pattern them at that time. atleast early season it may be easier to get the drop on that buck you have been watching in your food plot and so on...
  13. i cant see a buck with one side of his rack being considered a threat to a mature buck? that seems silly to me... ive read about dominet bucks even loosing there one side or breaking part of it off in battle and becoming less dominant for that reason. So why would a one racked buck appose a threat to another? seems made up to me but anything is possible i guess...
  14. nothing better then pulling a cam and seeing a nice set of horns!
  15. yeah this pic has been around... quite scary lol
  16. ^ lol i hear ya... i was actually there over the weekend yet again... i am a freak when it comes to lawn care and i actually make 2 granular treatments during the year for all types of bug conrol. ORTHO sells them in the big red bags, they work wonders!
  17. sttill can not beleive no one here knows what i am talking about. all you long island guys who hunt on the island, guess what there out there... i am going to try and get these things on the camera to show first hand. lol scary little suckers
  18. i dont agree with knocking the guys who do shoot smaller buck. Most guys do not have the time others put in to scout and its all about putting meat in the freezer at the end of the day. whos to judge?? what one does another may not do... i pass on smaller deer because I KNOW what i have running around. And im sure the ones who pass on smaller deer do generally know what they have on there property or adjacent to them. But it does not give them the right to knock the guys who do shoot smaller bucks. There are plenty areas though in NYS that generally do not have mature bucks and probably will never produce mature bucks, maybe because there area is OVER hunted or in adequate food source or quite possible the deer are not given the chance to grow to potential. so there for to those hunters hunting that area will take a smaller deer and be quite happy to put meat in the freezer. there are some of us that do have the liberty of seeing MATURE deer and do have the liberty to be more picky then others, however in any event doesn't make it right to downgrade anyone. My step dad when we hunt upstate will shoot any buck he sees, why? because we drive 5 hours to get there, he spends NO time driving up there to scout in the off season due to his company he owns and to him its about the week we get away to even go upstate spend the time with family and friends and enjoy the "Comradery" of the time spent with everyone. And when he does harvest his spike or whatever, hes happy and it made the trip that much better! at the end of the day you do whats best for you as a hunter, some do it to actually put food on the table and some do it as recreation. who are we to judge????
  19. cool vids.... id think the SD card would take up a good amount of room for the vids as well as take alittle bit more battery to operate? if you got good deer movement at that location and the camera is taking alot of video, it might eat up the room on the card.
  20. let me know what you find john, im in the same boat. heated garage and all... i think i may want to put one in the house tho. im trying to find some for a good price and maybe even a company that sells and delivers for a good price.
  21. o ok , i got ya... none the less your plot looks like its doing what its supposed, looks like its coming in very nice. hows the rain by you? been getting it?
